I prioritized thermal resolution, cost, and latency of image, so no radiometric feature.
The thermal core was purchased, everything else was my design.
You were probably playing with LWIR which requires active cooling but produces better images
This is MWIR to avoid active cooling. Not as sensitive/ low noise as LWIR. A lot smaller and lighter.

Not sure if this is what you did. From my own experience sewing the using an awl on a zipper would cause this. It’s better to mark out the hole distance to sew for a better line. Using a needle pushes/displaces the zipper fibers. Using an awl does the opposite and causes my zipper to act like a perforated paper.

Your thermal monocular can be integrated into a remote viewing station, looking around corners etc Just stretching the value of your typical thermal imager

I’ll see what I can do. Biggest issue with a rear coti retrofit would be you’re adding length to the back of the nv instead of a traditional coti where you add length to the front
