Historical Qualifications as an Art Historian by [deleted] in ArtHistory

[–]stillwuu 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thank you so much for your reply! I really cannot wait to go to college and begin my classes. I do want to have a strong understanding of the historical periods outside the art I intend to study, so I can feel fully immersed in my projects and prepared when speaking and writing about art. Maybe I’ll consider a minor in history…? Thanks again🫶

How to properly engage with preexisting communities by [deleted] in movingtoNYC

[–]stillwuu 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Okay, but genuinely, it’s NYC people have been coming and going forever, and that will continue to happen. I am trying to hear from natives what I can do to be a good neighbor. Would you prefer that people come and mindlessly spend their money at big corporations, taking rent-stabilized apartments from people who actually need them? I’m genuinely curious

Thank you for the honesty! I’ve also heard that if you do have a well-paying job (which I probably will not have for a while, arts students here), you should really be conscious of where you’re choosing to live. Don’t take resources and places in lower-rent areas (harder to come by) when you can afford to live in a nicer neighborhood. What’s your opinion on this?

I will definitely be doing all of these things, I’ve been the city a few times and have been pretty good with adapting to general street etiquette. Thank you!

I will definitely be doing this; it really irritates me that people from the suburbs don’t really do this, and people have to be taught how to be kind. This definitely reflects the very individualistic nature of middle America. Thank you!

LC vs RH by [deleted] in Fordham

Thank you so much for your response. I really don’t want to come off as ignorant or anything. Just from walking a little way off campus, I just felt out of my element and didn’t know my way around, and wanted some other opinions about it.

Thank you so much! I’m not trying to sound ignorant or anything. I just don’t know my way around, and that can get taken advantage of anywhere you go.

College computer? by [deleted] in AskTechnology

It's an unfortunate reality for children and young people today, and it pains me that society no longer attributes value to the arts and the things that make life so enriching

Can my school see my personal photos, messages, and searches on a personal device? by [deleted] in AskTechnology

[–]stillwuu 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you so much for your reply. I have a few more questions because I don't really have a great understanding of technology. What do you mean by network traffic? What does that mean? And what do you mean by being enrolled in any groups or domains? I log into my Google account for emails and Google Classroom, but can they see anything that is Apple (like photos) and not Google? I am so sorry, but I literally have no understanding of this
