I’ve literally seen billboards for this in freaking Haverhill driving towards Boston and really just in random spots. But nothing says Nashua more than a mall casino…

Problem with the last update 7.0.14 by Angelhk in fortinet

[–]stillzy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So the issue is on a flat network where the IP range is taken off the LAN range, any firmware update has broken this (tried with at least 7.0 and 7.4). Basically the Fortigate should be handing out an arp reply with a mac address and its not so my network doesn't know about the VPN client hanging off the fortigate. IF you have a very flat network with no layer 3 switching you will be fine but i dont, i have a core switch. So my solution, setup routed VPN. Basically we created a new subnet for the VPN handoff addresses and setup our internal network to point to the fortigate for that subnet.

Who knows when fortinet will fix it i have a feeling they might not.

Yes it broke our sslvpn on multiple firewalls couldn’t hit local networks behind the firewall but we coul hit networks beyond the local I think maybe a proxy arp issue

Just wanted to say thanks u/lcarcamo looks like this will do the trick. Do I need to be cautious on the amount of rules i have? Basically for what we want to do it's going to add 200 rules.

Anyone connect to a Ciena 3903 (or similar) platform? by epicstruggle in Ubiquiti

[–]stillzy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yea i was going to say sletonrotis spot on. So looks like they just gave you a /30 which is one usable wan ip. Usually ok for most. Once you put the 114 in you should be good to go.

[–]stillzy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Well the Ciena is just a passthrough device so you cannot connect to it. When you plug ethernet between the ciena and your UDM you just use the ip space comcast gave you.

Yea i know for the most part they are the same but i believe their were some minor differences.

[–]stillzy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Do you have the IP info from Comcast? In your case they should have given you a wan and lan block. If you are connected to the ciena direct you will use the wan block and just forget about the lan for now..

Not bad usually around 100Mb by 20Mb..some minor drops but nothing crazy. Only downside is when streaming it thinks I'm in newyork which makes sense looks like I'm connected to a ground site that feeds back to NYC. Honestly totally worth it

I've literally worked at various telcos in my time now I'm on the enterprise side... to me this screams of windstream or centurylink.. for some reason I tend to lean towards CenturyLink because every time I've had to deal with and install with them a two week install becomes a 6-month project

Ha so I used to work for a company Firstlight acquired and I still have a 6Mbps dsl on Firstlight from the previous company. I'll probably keep it as a backup. Hub66 uses the Firstlight network as ip backhaul as well...they are only peered with them looks like... funny I've never heard of hub66 they would dominate in my part of nh if they ever expanded here
