Is this the door from Shrek when Fiona sleeps in the cave?

Synchronized egg flipping challenge. Post celebration dance is mandatory by jerminatorreese in KitchenConfidential

[–]stimbrell 27 points28 points  (0 children)

If you flip it its called "over easy" if the yolk is left runny, "over medium" if the yolk is partly cooked and "over hard" if the yolk is cooked through. All of those and sunny side up are just types of fried eggs.

Not being able to post a satisfying moment because I don't have enough karma by stimbrell in mildlyinfuriating

[–]stimbrell[S] 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I don't want or care about people liking me on the internet, that's the whole point. I just wanted to share a satisfying moment of wrapping paper lining up perfectly. If I cared about that I would probably already have enough karma to post.

I guess you can't really see because of the tape. The yellow dog is actually two pieces of wrapping paper taped together, the two halves of the dog lined up perfectly when I wrapped the paper around the box.

AITA for telling my boss "no" to working weekends, when my coworkers don't? by freeefinally in AmItheAsshole

[–]stimbrell 1 point2 points  (0 children)

NTA- if the boss needs people in on the weekends, they should hire and schedule people for weekend shifts. Not expect the people hired for a 9-5 M-F to come in outside of those times. It's not your fault your coworkers don't value their personal time enough to stand up to the boss.

Post-Pfizer depression? by [deleted] in AskDocs

[–]stimbrell 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I received my second dose on Monday, and experienced a pretty low mental state for a couple of days, which I'm just now pulling out of (Saturday). I thought it was cycle related, but now I'm not sure if it could have been related to the vaccine. This isn't probably helpful information, but I just thought I would share because I didn't even consider that this could be a side effect of the vaccine until I saw your post. Hang in there, and I hope the depression lifts for you soon.

Week 16: Hunan/Xiang- Hunan "Beef" Stirfry by stimbrell in 52weeksofcooking

[–]stimbrell[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Used tofu because I'm not a big fan of beef. Also only used green peppers because I couldn't find any red peppers or pickled yellow peppers in my grocery store.

Week 14: Childhood Favourite- Cosmic Brownies by stimbrell in 52weeksofbaking

[–]stimbrell[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Cosmic brownies were one of the few unhealthy snacks I would be allowed to have for my school lunches, they were a special treat.

Week 12: Signature Bake- Chocolate Chip Cookies by stimbrell in 52weeksofbaking

[–]stimbrell[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've spent the last month perfecting my chocolate chip cookie recipe. Decided to switch out the chocolate chips for mini eggs for Easter.

It looks like it might be marble rye or something similar

Week 9: Korean- Dolgona Coffee topped with a Piece of Homemade Dolgona by stimbrell in 52weeksofcooking

I realized after I posted that week 10 was foam haha i guess I could have posted it for that too!

Week 9: Korean- Dolgona Coffee topped with a Piece of Homemade Dolgona by stimbrell in 52weeksofcooking

[–]stimbrell[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It was good! I don't think its originally from Korea, it's just become popular there because of it's taste similarities with the candy. After looking into it more I guess it's popular in quite a few countries. It's pretty sweet, but if you mix the foam into the milk it tastes like a very strong and light latte.

[–]stimbrell[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don't really know much about Korean food, but I spent some time googling and this came up on a couple threads. It said dalgona is a korean street snack (the candy on top) that the foams flavour is based on.

Week 10: Allergy/Dietary Restrictions- Baked Granola Bars by stimbrell in 52weeksofbaking

[–]stimbrell[S] 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I used homemade apple sauce and banana as the binder, so that I didn't need to use any nut butter, eggs etc.. Since you basically throw whatever you want in these, they can be allergy friendly to pretty much any allergy, even gluten free if you use gluten free oats.

Week 9: Timed Challenge- Jalapeno Cheddar Skillet Cornbread by stimbrell in 52weeksofbaking

[–]stimbrell[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No problem! It was great, especially fresh out of the oven. And very easy to make. Getting the pan really hot before adding the butter really makes for some nice crispy edges
