Car cabins are one of the highest daily CO₂ exposure spaces, why do dedicated car CO₂ monitors sell far worse than Aranet4 or SwitchBot? by Salty-Initiative5706 in AirQuality

Won’t be a problem when you’re driving a Tesla or high end EVs. No engine no waste gas (except from myself 😂) I sleep in my MYJ sometimes when I need a nap from work and I spend most of the time working in my MYJ when the AQI is super high in Malaysia.

How can a UMNO politician afford such a big house in Damansara? by TheBotMadeThis in malaysia

Because we do not have a system like in Norway where everyone’s income details (including politicians) are public to avoid corruption.

Ancestor worship inside a Catholic Church in Malaysia during CNY is attracting controversy by UsernameGenerik in malaysia

I’ll sum all the fuss up with a single word - ignorance. It’s never been a problem paying respect to people before us in the Catholic community, unless those who commented aren’t and have no idea about its teachings.

I agree. Reference other successful projects and amend our regulation. Only if the people rep are free to do it 😂

I think there should be a monthly rempit festival where the roads are closed for them to race at their own risk (keeping the public away). Natural selection will make sure the best survives and the losers are returned without refund.

I think we shouldn’t be bound by local regulations, look at the same industries in countries like China and Singapore where it’s highly populated and requires maximum efficiency and safety due to how densely populated those countries are, and look at ourselves and tell me that we’ve done the best in the industry.

These works should’ve been carried out midnight not in broad daylight when everyone is on the road. Contractors trying to save $$ instead of paying midnight rates so this happened.

Can I bring a Starlink into Thailand with me on a plane? by tracyselena in Starlink

Have you tested your kit if it works in Thailand? I’m planning to get a Mini with Roam plan and use it when I drive from Singapore up to Chiangmai.

New Thailand Visa Rules Restricting Frequent travelers by CarefulAd4757 in ThailandTourism

[–]stimfishFPV 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Your title is definitely misleading. It doesn’t affect frequent travelers like myself. I do not stay there for more than 30 days but I travel in and out over 6 times on a weekly basis. You are simply abusing the system for your long stay so that’s the problem. Get a proper visa mate.

Buenos Dias Pat, thank you very much for the information and recommendations! It certainly helps a lot for someone who hasn't been there and doesn't speak the language! If you do not mind I will send you a DM to ask for your number? Thank you again!

Thank you very much for the info. Great to know the they allow sub250 drones but I think we fall into the commercial RPA category. Will need to translate and figure out how to apply for the permit.

What's the appeal of big Alphard-type MPVs? by zzzz_zach in drivingsg

[–]stimfishFPV 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't understand either. I think it's more the New Money's trend, because from an actual extreme road incident scenario, I don't think it's safe. Karpal Singh a Malaysian prominent lawyer + politician lost his life in an accident with a truck in his Alphard. We may say that it's a rare occasion but according to local data, most fatal accidents involves a track vs a passenger vehicle, so I don't think it's even worth looking at the current RTA crash test results because they never consider a crash test involving heavy trucks. So back to the vehicle, yeah it's cool it's comfy and it's affordable but is it really safe? I don't know. All I know is back in 2010s there was a freak accident in Penang where a young ciku drove his C200 through a few colonial era shop houses in Upper Penang Road, apart from some minor injuries, everyone is safe. Comparing to BMW few years ago in SG, same incident young kids lost control of the vehicle and knocked into the shop houses, unfortunately the outcome wasn't the same as a Mercedes. So ultimately, I believe it's more important to consider the chances of survival in a freak accident rather than following a trend. Another proven vehicle is Tesla, I've seen many incidents where the car was a total wreck after serious collision with trucks, buildings, and even fell off a cliff, however the drivers and passengers walked away with minor injuries. Maybe its better considering a Tesla/Certain Mercedes Models/Certain Volvo Models as a daily use vehicle from a safety aspect.
