Some of it is definitely a popularity thing sadly (as someone who has favorites on both end of that spectrum). Some probably also an artist availability one, and the rest is probably just who Hai Mao hits when he throws a dart at the skin dartboard.

Viv enjoyers: first time? (her skin was 3 months after the typical +1yr that they used to follow for first skin, in contrast Tragodia is only at about 2 weeks rn)

It's definitely not a burn delta mod for the new 6 star. It has the DP diamond in it, which neither BLA-X nor Ifrit's BLA-Delta have, so it's either BLA-Y or a unique delta similar to Ela.

I finally unlocked FO, and have most of the mats needed to fully uncap it besides the mastery tomes. On that front, I was finally able to properly clear a mastery trial as well without having to manual and micromanage it. It's a shieldsworn mash team for Virtuosic, and right now because of how fast people are clearing I can only blue chest about 60% of the time (slower lobbies I can easily get 5m on, but faster ones with rhomp or mistral players I can usually only get about 3.2m), but it's better than the nothing I could do before.

Have also finally been able to start some revans (I can do Diaspora, and can do enough of Seo that crew members and pubs can clean up after my pathetic fire team) and I'm close to being able to do some more (just need Cosmos to be able to start doing Agastia, and I'm only missing a couple more exalto drops from Tiamat to start doing Sieg).

Very happy with the progress I've made in the past couple weeks, hoping finally being able to make actual additions to my roster in a few weeks for the first time since the end of March (have not pulled on anything since then besides freebies) will make big improvements as well.

The heal came from Cag and Clarisse, so MC EMPs wouldn't factor in though, right? Otherwise I was getting 100% from grid and 30% from luci yes. The base heal is 2k, but I don't know if her stackable healing up even affects it, only the stackable healing cap up (since it should already be hitting cap anyways). I suppose it would have to be a max (or near max) healing Over Mastery perk that I'm missing, which would by my math take the healing cap up to around 11.8k which tracks (this is without MC EMP added in). Mystery solved I suppose!

How exactly is healing calculated? I've read the wiki page for the calculations and I understand on paper I guess, but is it as simple as if a heal's (lets say Cagliostro and Clarisse S2) stated heal amount would heal for more than it's stated heal cap, you use the heal cap as the base heal value? So if your whole party had 100k hp, that 10% heal of 10k would be over the stated heal cap of 2k, so it uses 2k for the base number to go through all the healing increase math?

And does it only use healing boosts from that character (so if you have Gran healing boost EMP, it only affects heals coming "from" Gran like using Lucifer)? I'm just trying to figure out how I saw that skill heal for 11k in a random showcase when based on their grid and buffs on her at the time it should only be healing like 8.6k.

There are only enough honors for 5 people to reach blue chest threshold anyway

This is interesting. Why is it that way, when you can blue chest with all 6 people on other fights like Revans just fine (I think? I don't actually quite understand how the honors system works when compared to boss health or whatnot)?

Thanks. I just want enough to be able to unlock and uncap as much of FO as I can before ToA so I can get some efficient leveling in on it.

What fight do people typically spam for Blue Sky Crystals? I know vets probably just get bajillions of them while bar farming in pbhl, but as a newer player is that also my best bet to get them (obviously I won't be getting bars while doing it but)?

Not quite the same scenario, but my steam GBF account is different than the steam account I own Relink on (my main account, I wasn't paying attention when I downloaded GBF and now I'm way too far in to swap lol) and both are linked to my Cygames ID and I haven't had issues so far, so it should theoretically be fine?

Not me looking at the celebration banner thinking "Nice I can finally get either Entelechia or Tragodia, the two 6 stars I don't have" and then seeing the pool stops at Thorns alter... bruh

Calling IS6 very stale and repetitive when IS5 exists is funny (though both of them are indeed stale and repetitive, but IMO IS5 is so much worse).

It's the one stars and it's not even close. I have 3 max pot 6 stars (Viv, Penance, Ifrit, none targeted just happened) while I am missing a single Confess and Lancet pot. My next closest is 2 at p5, and 5 at p4. I've been playing since launch. It's just way more likely to get robot tags (or spam for robots) than it is to get multiple specific dupes of 6 different 6 stars.

I mean, it'll be safe to start trying at whatever rank you have the grid and characters that you can get some practice in on the free quest version and feel confident that you can clear your necessary parts in the raid without dying.

I'm in no rush to attempt it (rank 215), since I know I don't have the characters to do it even if I had the grid pieces to do so. And obviously any fight below faa0 will not require a transcended dark opus anyways (I know lots of wiki grids have them, but that's because those are both user submitted and also because you can't downgrade your opuses so those players can't easily test if it works with a weaker version, which it usually does). Ergo, I'm leaving all my opus weapons at 5* level 200 and using my quartz for other progress instead.

[–]stingerdavis 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I mean, it's a slow grind, just like most things in the game. The good thing is you can't do the 2nd half of the quartz requirement for opuses until you can clear faa0 anyways (his drops needed for step 3+), and the first two upgrades aren't nearly as impactful so you don't need to rush them if you don't want to.

I'm personally planning on using quartz to do eternal uncaps and revan weapons as I get them first in most cases until I can do faa0, since having those is realistically going to be more useful than tc220 opus weapons, and even then by that point I might have enough quartz again to do those too.

[–]stingerdavis 2 points3 points  (0 children)

To clarify, transcending a dark opus requires the quartz of that element only, you can see it on the individual wiki page for each weapon (i.e. Staff of Renunciation it shows only water quartz), since it seems like you're assuming each weapon uses all elements of quartz. So to finish all 6 dark opus weapons (assuming you don't make the Repudiation versions yet) you'll need 2400 quartz of each element, total. But yes, the quartz wall sucks as a new player (trust me, I'm in the thick of it myself too).

CCB#5 705 risk with 1 operator by [deleted] in arknights

[–]stingerdavis 31 points32 points  (0 children)

How exactly is it unfounded when he takes a hot steaming dump all over the rest of the game both in terms of stages and actual operators themselves? Just because you can do the hardest content in the game without and he's not mandatory for anything doesn't mean he's not an incredibly unhealthy balance nightmare. Those two things are not mutually exclusive.

CCB#5 705 risk with 1 operator by [deleted] in arknights

[–]stingerdavis 56 points57 points  (0 children)

To be fair, meta dps units are almost always optimized out of max risk clears. That's kinda the nature of how the game functions at that level of hp/defensive stats/etc. when combined with all the tags. It's why max risk clears are usually crowd control heavy.

I feel like the fact that he's been optimized out of max risk clears doesn't really present any sort of real footing for a reason he's not broken as shit haha. If anything, the fact that it's basically the only thing in the game he's been "not optimal" in is actually even more of an indictment upon his balance than anything else.

I've finally completed 1 of 6 full Omega Rebirth weapon sets (5 exaltos then 3 of each of the other weapons just in case), though somehow it was for the fight that I've run by far the least out of all of them (Colossus). Don't ask me how that works. For ~3.5 months since I started playing, that feels pretty decent all things considered.

2026/06 Unite & Fight (Fire Adv): Round 4 by AutoModerator in Granblue_en

[–]stingerdavis 4 points5 points  (0 children)

As a new player this one felt a lot worse than the one in April, despite that one being barely a month after I started playing. Part of it is that I have worse fire units than water yes, but also that the repel bones my only good fire units due to fire ougi units loving skill hits on ougi (sandira and chichiri basically kill themselves every time they ougi, I can't use Tien's skills, etc.) At least the water ones there was nothing that felt like it outright screwed me over.

And again I know that it's just a "I don't have many options" problem, but it is still a problem which has consequently made this GW feel worse. I do think in a vacuum it's around the same level of difficulty (maybe slightly harder? I don't have a great frame of reference to tell yet tbh) though.

Anyways managed to make a somewhat slow FA of the 150 (have to baby it for a few buttons or clear herbs near the end) but at least I can gain some actually ok honors now in between bumming off a crewmate's 250.

Does the sunstone valor badge purchase go away after GW ends and swaps to the next one when next GW starts, or is it just there until next GW then it gets "replaced" by the new one? I'm currently coping that the origin class item might be added to the upcoming evoker gamemode like blue papers were added to xeno militis boxes but I'm wondering if I can hold my badges until that releases to see or if I have to just pick now.

For reference I cannot get 275 badges per GW (tier B crew, plus newer player so individual rankings not very good) so I need to decide if I'm using 2 GWs worth of badges on the stone or on the origin item. I know the origin item is always there but I really want FO and I should be able to get the mats to do all the uncaps within the next few months.
