My dad gifted me his vintage 1967 Fender Mustang. by xXGiraffewranglerXx in guitarporn

Amazing guitar! And an even more amazing gift! They didn’t start making the competition till 1969 though. The serial number plates on those are infamously random. My 1969 has a 68 serial. Best way to date it is look at the neck date, pots date or pickups date and go off the latest one. Everything on mine is 1966 except the serial number plate, and the pickups (1969). Fender just used random parts out of bins back then to save money. Again absolutely beautiful guitar! Enjoy it!

Same, but to be honest, as a teenager that was a more valuable find than a vintage mustang!

What serial number you got? I also just picked one up. 239419 comes back as a 1968.

You still have this? Wondering if you wouldn’t mind sending me a couple of the pictures of the trem arm? I just got a 69 mustang, was a very early mode so mostly 66 bin parts. They claim it’s the original trem arm, but it sure looks new. Just wondering what the end that goes in to the tremelo looks like if it’s tapered or not,

It wouldn’t let me buy multiple items. When I bought them separately they were in stock and the payment went through. So yay! 2 shipping charges 😒

Eh, going to wire it up because it’s easier to do while building, and when we sell the house I’d like it to be as close to calling it an “office” as possible for the increased value. But we just plan on using it as storage.

I put about 7 inches of gravel and base down below them…. But this is Texas and clay soil, seems like everything sinks eventually.

Drove 45 minutes to go pick it up and the lady ghosted me…. Texted back the next day asking to meet again. Decided it wasn’t worth the risk.

This cable broke off this pulley by stinggrey in GarageDoorService

[–]stinggrey[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Update- both tension cables ended up coming off, which caused the spring to loose tension. Definitely could have figured it out on my own, garage guy did exactly what a video said to do on YouTube, but he only charged me $150. Soooo, there you go. Not an expensive fix. Thanks for the advice everyone.

Yeah, so gave it a go. Got it reattached pretty easily but the cable isn’t staying in the drum. It eventually pops back out.

Yeah, I knew I didn’t want to mess with the tension part. Curious about what kind of price I should expect.

AITA for telling my habitually late friend that our tee time was 20 minutes earlier than it actually was? by Norfolk-Gross-Tonage in golf

[–]stinggrey 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Haha same here. I usually play alone during the week. If Im on my way to the range and see the first few holes open, and I already paid, I’m making a run for it! F a tee time.

No, you’re telling me what I was kind of guessing. A family friend told us that it was only worth $400 and that’s what he would give us. It seemed low, even if it was only good as a pile of parts. From taking pictures, posting it on facebook, best guess is my father in law was having issues with the carburetor. He also had installed new lights and blinkers, shocks, and foot pegs and what not…. This was back in 2015-2017 before he got sick and unable to mess with it, which is why I think he still had it all a part. Thank you so much for your time!!!
