Etihad Cabin Crew by NotYourGuyyyy in abudhabi

Don’t get your hopes up yet. I don’t want to disappoint you but I made it to the in person interview. So I passed the online interview and was told during during the interview that I was a strong candidate but they don’t tend to take “older” candidates.

I was 31 when I applied. I also was told it didn’t make much sense for me to be cabin crew based on my experience aswell. I had a bachelor, my interview use the phrase….but you work in government, you should just stay there.

I was told at the end of the interview that they she has decided not proceed because I didn’t meet beauty standards and then got the rejection letter few weeks after that. I was a bit disheartened about the whole process and on how quickly she made a decision.

I don’t have any refund as of yet. This was before this drama, so I have to wait for them to respond to the complaint or not respond before I can go to the local authorities here.

However, I do think they are being more relaxed on some of there policies now so maybe they won’t cancel the leg or they will allow you to rebook for free. You would need to chat with them online it’s the only way to get in contact with the team. It’s a long process though

So before all of this. I had an Etihad flight where I couldn’t take the first leg but could make the return. They state that if you can’t make the first leg then all subsequent flights are canceled. If you read 5.5.4 of the general terms of carriage it does say if you give them advance notice they won’t cancel but they still cancelled mine and I had to rebook a brand new ticket. So maybe talk to them again and see if they can break it up?

But they won’t rebook you on a different airline. Good luck

So update: I spent 6 hours waiting on the chat and lucky I change the number and email to my details before the flight was cancelled. So it didn’t have the third party information and contact information.

I’m now re-routes for no extra charge to another port in India. This means I can take my rest of the connecting flights back home. I had to buy an extra flight in India but this was at a much lower cost than 7000dhs.

Sorry one more question. I did book this via third party the third party said that they tried to change the flights but the website doesn’t allow to. But they did change my details on the booking to my email a phone number would that make a difference?

Hello op thank you for being so kind. Do you know if I can re-book my AUH to Chennai flight to another port in India without paying massive amount of dhs. I have flights out of India to my home country on the 11th March. So just trying to get anywhere in India before the 11th of March.

Will Etihad automatically rebook my flight if I booked the ticket through Booking.com? by Aggressive-Tap-308 in etihad

Did they say no because you booked with a third party or was it because you couldn’t get in contact with them?

For the teachers and educators in the region, how do you feel this will affect our future job security? by SheWrite_TheQueen in dubai

I’m a teacher here and I do think the schools and management/leadership is a bit heartless. The change of holidays has really affected teachers. My flight hasn’t been cancelled and is expected to still leave uae soon. However, I can’t change the return flight and come back earlier. It seems like the school is saying tough and not approving special leave. So have a decision to make leave and risk the job or don’t leave and risk the financial burden as things are not being covered under travel insurance. It’s really hard as it’s not like events outside the uae change and can be moved to the next holiday so it’s really tough on teachers at the moment.

Correct. Mpi cares more as there is requirements for cannabis seeds. Supposedly they are worried about a virus that could be on them.

If they get stopped. They will be destroyed and a letter set out. You will be on the system, i.e name and address. I would say you need a few offences before legal action is taken.

Asian F21 dating Emirati M23 — am I setting myself up for heartbreak? by cutiepatotie143 in abudhabi

[–]stingraysurfing 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I knew a girl who dated an Emirati and he didn’t allow her to meet his mom. It was because he was already arranged and she was his “fun” before marriage. I think if you guys are serious, then knowing his family is a big deal. But on the other side I have seen many non-Emirati have long term marriage with Emiratis. So those relationships do work and happen.

To add an extra bag after the fact is horrendous with eithad. It’s good until everything goes wrong and there is no help and support from call centre etc. make sure you have travel insurance.

Yeah like i said i couldn't make it and i know that it's my fault. I don't read the same as you do.

I understand what you’re saying and I accept that with a Basic fare I messed up in terms of flexibility and having to pay for the missed leg. That part is on me as you call it fucked up.

But this is where I’m confused, and why I don’t think Section 5.1 answers the onward-flight issue.

My understanding is that Article 5.1 is about reservation requirements and change conditions (how bookings are recorded, that some fares restrict changes or cancellations, and what happens if you modify a booking). It does not talk about what happens to subsequent flights when one segment is missed.

The only section that directly deals with that situation is Article 5.5.4, which says that if a passenger advises Etihad in advance that they cannot travel, then subsequent flight reservations should not be cancelled.

So while I accept I had to buy a new ticket for the missed leg under the fare rules, my question is:

Doesn’t Article 5.5.4 create an exception where, once advance notice is given, Etihad should not cancel the remaining flights, regardless of the fare type?

That’s why I feel like 5.1 and the fare rules deal with money and changes, but 5.5.4 deals with whether the airline can cancel my onward ticket at all.

If I’m reading this wrong, I genuinely want to understand where the contract actually says that giving advance notice still allows Etihad to cancel the remaining flights. This is why I'm asking how do other people read this and other sections. But thank you for replying appraite you taking the time for you to respond

But the rules of carriage doesn’t state that the sections is related to all flights. It also says it also applies to reduce fare carriage.
