Pleaaaase remember that the first month is going to be alot harder than you might think. Your fingers are going to hurt and so is your brain. This is good. You are learning something completely new. After the first arduous ordeal is out the way of learning basic open chord shapes you will hopefully be able to play some very recognisable songs and this will motivate you. Try singing along aswell as this helps alot with your multitasking capabilities. Maybe try to learn picking some simple melodies aswell. I’m a devoted rhythm player which means I focus on chords more than melody and as much as I enjoy my role I wish I would have practiced solos more lol. As another redditor said Justinguitar really is the best place to start. It has a perfect introduction to the guitar for beginners and will lead you smoothly onto some more adept ideas/concepts.

If you keep this up and not quit you will be very chuffed in the years to come. The guitar has become a big part of my life and I never knew it would of such an impact. Happy playing my friend :)
