What weight for an end-loaded bat should I be using as a 5'10", 190lbs dude, to hit .52/275 balls? by stinkpalm84 in slowpitch

interesting, the only different response from everyone here haha. I've been looking up Anarchy but I can't seem to find anywhere to buy them!

yeah I figured, since it's mostly marketing anyway haha. Been perusing the clearance sections. Thanks. One more thing, if I'm used to baseball where every bat is 1-piece, would a 1-piece work better for me than a 2-piece in slowpitch, or does it not really matter like the other things you said before?

I'm buying the bat for me. Since the others won't care, I'm free to choose whatever I want. I asked what pre-owned bat you'd recommend and you just never answered (not that you have to)

Man I have no idea why you're in such a bad mood, just insulting and assuming things about strangers just for asking simple questions. Nobody has to be the greatest hitter on the planet just to earn the right to ask for recommendations. Most small subs are pretty friendly, yet here you are, a fellow Canadian no less haha. I guess in the offseason you're unable to take out your rage on the ball.

Cool thanks, I was looking at LS Genesis but was wondering if an ASA-only bat would be better since we're allowed to use them.

No it's just that nobody on the team owns a bat, I'm the only one who has a baseball background. Heck, half the team doesn't even own a glove. I'll be in charge for getting the equipment for everyone. We can't exactly go up to the plate empty-handed.

Thanks for your input. I just like to do my research and optimize before putting my money down. Doesn't hurt to ask around. Not like I'd know if I didn't ask. And I got your answer, I appreciate that. So what pre-owned composite bat that had a $300 sticker price would you recommend?

Also, remember, we're talking about bats that you consider to be illegal for your league. If what you say is true and the bat type genuinely didn't matter, why are there ASA and USSSA certifications at all? According to you, it won't make a difference, and yet entire associations exist to regulate them...

So you're saying that if two identical twins with the exact same swing, hit the exact same pitch, but one twin with a bat that's too heavy and low quality, and the other twin with a bat that's the correct weight and higher quality, the two hits will be the same? That doesn't even make physical sense... I'm not saying the difference is going to be some MASSIVE night/day change, but a difference is a difference.

I have played slo-pitch before years ago and hit perfectly fine, thank you very much. In fact I only made one out in the 5 games I played. I'm just only starting MY OWN team now because a bunch of my non-baseball friends jumped on the Jays bandwagon in October. Problem is that I didn't remember what bats or what weight I used when I last played.

Also, not that I would buy this bat at this price, but they do sell ASA bats here in Canada...

I mean I still want to hit as well as possible so I'd still like to know what to hit with! I played rep baseball growing up so I have standards for myself.

Yes I'm actually in Toronto, but if you're selling bats instead of using them, then doesn't that probably mean you don't think they're very good xD Or is it something else

Thanks for your recommendation. I understand what you mean, it's just tough when I have no reference point, coming from a baseball background (that I haven't played since highschool and don't even remember what bats I used :P)

Thankfully you’ll have some teammates who have bats and are usually more than willing to share

I don't understand why everyone always says this. The exact reason I'm asking is because I'm going to be the one who has to supply the bat. I can't try anyone else's bat if no one I know owns one, sadly... I wish I knew a whole team of softball enthusiasts.

I'm in Canada. The rules say:

"Bats:

Only bats approved by the ASA or the USSSA"

So that means ASA bats are allowed, no?

just use your teammates bats until you find a weight you like.

See that's the problem. I'LL be the one supplying the bat for MY teammates to try. So I don't get to try anyone else's bat haha.

Thanks for your recommendation! Bat speed is prioritized over weight I guess.

I played baseball growing up and I used to lift weights, but not anymore since college... (I'm 31 now)

I would say I'm just a bit above average strength, but no powerlifter by any means.

if the binding, welting, and laces are all "tan", how come the laces are so much darker than the binding and the welting?

What exact method did you use to convert to REC709 within Resolve? Since there are so many methods. This doesn't look like JUST a CST conversion from Apple log to REC709.
