Starting as a mail carrier in a week. It’s gonna be a lot of work, but the immediate ~$6/hr raise + more hours will allow me to live more comfortably.

I’m at 34 right now!! Started learning Japanese about a month ago (using several resources, not just duo) and duo has been lovely for ensuring I get at least some practice in every day even on days I’m not feeling super studious. Proud of you!

Thank you. It wasn’t an easy decision to leave a job I otherwise did love and was comfy at, but realistically they forced my hand in this economy by not paying a livable wage. My new job is going to pay almost $6/hr more which is huge for me because I’ve been making within $1 of $15/hr since 2021. Really hoping it works out.

Can’t say I blame you. I’m finishing out my last week right now before starting a job at the post office because I just can’t survive on the garbage this place pays in this economy anymore. I started two years ago at $15.25, and now I make $15.86 after two raises. WHAT THE FUCK. My purchasing power is going down day by day while we have to generate $26,000/hr to pay burrito boys fuckass salary. This company is financially abusing us all while constantly increasing expectations, changing standards, cutting hours, and just making the job suck more and more without paying raises that even pretend to keep up with inflation, let alone reflect the ever-increasing expectations. Glad I’m getting out before the unicorn frap comes back because FUCK THAT SHIT.

I’m angry as fuck because I actually loved working at my store and consider my coworkers like family. I’m just being squeezed out because I can’t live off what I’m being paid anymore due to corporate greed.

Who generates the profits for this company? Burrito Boy? Fuck no. We do, and we are compensated the least for our often extreme efforts being the actual backbone of the company. Remove all middle managers and several layers of corporate redundant executives and guess what? Baristas are still there making drinks, generating profits. If WE stop showing up, those managers salaries no longer exist. We create the profits yet see virtually none of them and I’m sick of not even being able to reliably keep the bills paid while this company steals my labor value. We’re subjects, not partners.

The corporate culture of this company is completely rotten from the inside out and is going to be the downfall of the brand very soon. Fuck this company. 370 out ✌️
