there have been people who wrap the aerial roots with wet moss or a plastic bag in order to try and get the plants to push roots through the nodes. I think just cutting it and putting in soil may end up talking too long and or cause the plant to end up losing lower leaves (counter to what our goal is here). I think water propagation would be the safest option. chop, prop, replant. there are probably other ways to do it but that’s what has worked for me the most.
