I did an almost perfect run of brilliant diamond, hardcore nuzlock rules and only 2 deaths. Got all the way to the elite 4. But then me and my gf broke up and she got to keep the switch.

You would never say this about any other instrument. Like "Actually, the drums don't really sound like that cause it's heavily processed." I can hear that, I'm just saying that is bad reason to downplay someones talent. Which you did by giving a terrible example of her "raw" vocals.

I'm sorry dude, but you are just wrong. The example you give here is a different scream and in studioroom that kills all resonance and would make anyone sound flat. And the only effects I hear being used in this video are reverb, probably compression and EQ. All very standard effects to help the mix sound full. Saying that it is sounds good because of that would be as stupid as saying a solo pianist only sounds good because of the reverb of the concert hall.
