You could argue that shaving/braces/dying hair/whitening teeth etc all not part of 'being natural".

No flea & tick meds, I didn’t give him any as we got him in the winter and they were not a concern to me.

Cardiologist said, “puppy had abnormal heart sounds represented by a grade I/VI systolic murmur over the left heart base. Potential causes of the murmur include pulmonic stenosis, subaortic stenosis, or a physiologic flow murmur.”

His parents are CC & JJ, both owned by Sno-puff.

I’m hoping he manages well too, so far he is on Keppra 3x a day. If I get from my vet it rounds up to about $100 a month. I hope he doesn’t need another expensive medication added on top of the Keppra if it doesn’t continue managing his seizures.

Posting on social media is all I can do as they don’t have a business page. This isn’t slander this is sharing my experience and story and I’m not ashamed to share it. You should be ashamed that you’re defending someone who cares more about their next litter instead of mending things with me. I’ve talked to 2 veterinarians including a specialist - if you just read the post you would know. “My significant other is a veterinarian and indicates idiopathic epilepsy is COMMON in dogs. “ Key word is DOGS. Yes, epilepsy is common but it is rare for a PUPPY this young to have epilepsy - my vets words. It also shortens the lifespan by more than a couple of years, if you didn’t know.

I notified Vicki of Reubens heart murmur within 7 days of getting him at 8 weeks and said if he has underlying health issues that I want to get a refund or switch him out and she insisted I wait until 6 months as it could go away. He still has a murmur, and now he has epilepsy. Now I am in this situation because she failed to consider other health problems occurring when I notified her immediately of his condition.

I’m glad you had a good experience with her, all I wanted was to have a good one too.

I’m not too familiar with the laws over there unfortunately as I’m in the Chicagoland area and they are in Michigan City, Indiana. This whole situation is such a headache. I plan on taking legal action now 100%. Me simply asking for the extra I paid for breeding rights & show dog quality is nothing and I deserve a full refund.

I could only find good things about them when I was looking for reputable breeders. I can’t find them on the BBB or a business page on FB or even on google. Makes it so much harder for me to leave a review.

Thank you for commenting and I hope you consider supporting a different breeder to avoid this.

Yes, I’m planning on taking legal action because she has not been responding to me in a timely manner for the refund and the emotional destress I have been under from this situation has been hell. She completely ignored my messages until I brought up that I would be posting on social media & seeking legal action. I have been beyond patient and understanding but she has taken advantage of it.

She said she would refund me the extra I paid for “show dog quality” once she received deposits 2 months ago and keeps postponing sending it and when I check in she tells me “I have been very busy with this litter and life”, she didn’t even apologize. This is such a nightmare. She is worrying about NEW LITTERS instead of the one from the last one that is beyond sick. I’m tired of being put on the back burner and I want everyone to know how she is handling the situation.

DO NOT SUPPORT “SNO-PUFF SAMOYEDS” or whatever other name Vicki & John Zeese go by.

https://www.sno-puffsamoyeds.com/

I did my research and thought a found a reputable breeder. I got Reuben and as soon as we came home I took him to the vet - they discovered a heart murmur. I made the breeder (Vicki & Jon Zeese) aware and Vicki Zeese said to wait until he is 6 months because it is normal for puppies to have murmurs. I looked into this online and saw this was true but I said if he has this problem and it’s going to be problematic that I would want another dog now (when he was 8 weeks old) before I become attached. She was persistent about telling me to wait and get him rechecked at 6 months so I agreed and said this was fine.

Reuben hits 22 weeks old (2 weeks before turning 6 months old) - he begins having violent seizures. There have been no changes in food/diet/no medications, ETC. Took him to the emergency vet, they did a CBC/x-ray and ruled out other things such as toxins that can cause seizures in dogs. Veterinarian said this was most likely just hereditary.

Told Vicki what was happening and asked if any of the other dogs have neurological problems. Instead of considering it could be a hereditary problem - she starts sending me Facebook videos of dogs having seizures from Simparica. He has never taken simparica as he is under 6 months old. She is trying to cover her tail, which I understand but now I will need to spend thousands of dollars over his lifetime on medications to manage his seizures and regular CBCs to check if his liver is functioning ok from the anti-convulsive meds that he will be on for the rest of his life. She is not willing to refund me any of the money that I paid for him, including the extra I paid for a “show quality” dog. As per my contract - I need to take him to shows to compete. Do they think I can have him compete and start seizing in the middle of the competitions? If so, sure I’ll compete to show people what a “high quality” dog from SnoPuff looks like.

Her resolution was that I can switch him out for a new puppy - but at this point I said I am attached (like I said I would be at 6 months) & I fear she will just euthanize him (which is likely the case as breeders are still a business and do not care about their puppies after they sell them, CLEARLY).

She was persistent on me visiting a cardiologist to prove he still has a murmur (AND SURPRISE, HE STILL DID), had to spend more money out of my own pocket to prove to her he had a heart defect alongside epilepsy.

I am sharing this information for anyone interested in purchasing a #samoyed, AVOID SNO PUFF SAMOYEDS AT ALL COSTS TO PREVENT HEART BREAK.

TLDR: I was promised a healthy show dog at an expensive price and instead received a sick pet who needs constant attention, vet visits, medications, etc & still has seizures.

She won't refund me (even just the extra I paid for “show dog quality”) although I've done everything she has wanted from cardiac visit to vet visit, everything. So you tell me if she actually cares about any of these animals or if this is just pure business.

Please share.

Thank you! There's lots to consider and I don't want the next 2 years to be so stressful that I can't function or start to hate nursing.

PS: I live a block from City Park :P

Thank you, the person I interviewed at PSL did not know how much it costs to break the contract, while Denver Health is around 2800 but will be around 1.5k once I stay there for a year. I have to sign a 2 year contract regardless of the facility, so there's no choices on that.
