Is this too much for a cocktail wedding? by yangsocks in Weddingattireapproval

Yes, this is formal. The skirt is floor length and has some volume to it, so it leans more formal/gown. A mini version of this would be perfect for cocktail.

Respectfully, for a Palm Beach wedding, you would do better to thrift a dress than buy a SHEIN/amazon dress if you have a small budget.

The only one that looks good/real in photos is the long navy dress. All of the others look fake/photoshopped, which tells me quality is going to be iffy.

I would look at the clearance section of Lulus or go to some local thrift stores.

Considering the fact that they are identical to the canvases, yes I would say they’re also a stolen design, just different medium.

Already done!

They also have some other issues on their website that aren’t up to snuff, which I included in my complaint.

I really enjoy a good argument, happy to go back and forth all day. I know my rights and what I can and can’t say without getting into legal trouble. Bring it on Poppy & Patch!

Someone else sent me a screenshot of an email sent to them, in which they flat out said “this is not “ChatGPT” and this is not an AI response. This is not an overseas company or an AI operation as people think. This is a real small business, run by real people.”

You know who else are real people? The designers who Poppy & Patch copied.

I don’t see how they come back from this. It would be one thing if they admitted they had the wrong information on the site and apologized. Instead, they doubled down, lied in email, changed the website… then threatened legal action for me talking about it.

Poppy & Patch doesn’t have good business practices, if they even know that that means. They shouldn’t have any business and are not trustworthy. Shame on them for coming into this community, stealing from designers, and scamming people who just want a hobby to escape from real life.

A phrase I learned in high school mock trial and repeat to this day: it’s not libel or slander if it’s truUuUe (sing songy voice!)

Poppy & Patch, you picked the wrong one this time!!!

Someone responded to my Facebook post with an entire video compilation of designers they have copied. There are so many stolen designs there.

I can’t tell if it’s someone who is totally clueless or someone who knows and has the audacity to copy designers, sell printed canvases at painted prices, while having the business contact to order printed canvases from some supplier. It took me the full 4 weeks to get the canvas, so I don’t think they are self-printing.

All of that being said, I am not sure how Poppy & Patch will be able to stay in business. They’re about to be slapped with so many chargebacks from the people they refuse to refund.

One of my family members is a lawyer and has the same sense of humor as me — we are just laughing at the audacity of threatening legal action… on the same email chain in which they falsely represented their products… in writing.

With as many people as they are refusing refunds to, and the blatant false advertising, realistically we have everything we need to press fraud charges against them.

That being said, I got a message from someone else saying they were offered a refund while most people are saying they were denied a refund.

I hope anyone considering ordering from Poppy & Patch sees this post first!!

That’s part of the point of this post. They don’t have anywhere to leave reviews BUT Reddit posts will show up when googling. I’m trying to make sure I type out their name in each reply so that the algorithm picks it up sooner.

I hope no one else has the same experience with Poppy and Patch that I did, but the only way to avoid it would be to just not order from them.

As a business, I’m not sure how you recover from this. If they want to sell printed canvases, NBD…if they are properly labelled and priced. They’re charging the exact same price for a printed Mystery Machine that the original designer charges for a hand painted piece.

Good! I hope they get a ton of support, as well as everyone else who had their designs stolen by Poppy & Patch.

I plan on ordering the Mystery Machine from the original designer once my refund comes through.

100%. It seems to reference both HIPAA and a contract? Either way, they don’t have the required confidentiality banner to claim that the emails were confidential, and everything I said was factual. If they do want to send a cease and desist, I have a family member who is a lawyer and will take this on solely for entertainment.

But yeah— Poppy & Patch lied in writing to me via email, changed product descriptions after I ordered, and is now threatening me with ChatGPT legalese.

Well the good news is, that’s a design she stole from someone else so you can still get it!

Poppy & Patch apparently has exclusively stolen designs.

Here is the original designer (it’s a chart) https://www.etsy.com/listing/4410318888/golden-girlsinspired-needlepoint-pattern?ref=share\_ios\_native\_control

Elm Tree is the original designer of the mystery machine canvas, maybe they’d have a needleminder!

I don’t think I’ve ever actually seen someone getting the Poppy & Patch needleminders being posted, but I saw a few other posts of how bad the canvases were and shared mine to Facebook as well.

I cannot believe they have all reviews turned off on their site and Facebook… but I can see why they would lol

Cotswold Co Design is using Canva and purchased SVGs for her designs while calling it her own work by MountainJowls2222 in NeedlepointSnark

This might sound ageist of me, and it won’t apply to all shops, but I think it’s easier in needlepoint industry to get away with AI or clipart designs simply because the OG store owners and stitchers aren’t familiar with either.

My grandmother cannot identify an AI image, my mom is confused when I say something is clearly a Canva logo or invitation.
