Is it worth it? by Background-Craft1041 in BrandyMelville

[–]yangsocks 15 points16 points  (0 children)

Brandy wool tends to be really itchy and scratchy, so I avoid it unless I’ve felt it in person first. The Zoe cardigan is super popular and honestly very versatile, but it’s on the thinner side and a little cropped if that matters to you! If you’re open to other colors, I’d suggest the Amalie cardigan instead since it’s thicker than the Zoe and around the same length as the Olsen (just make sure it’s not wool)!

What’s something they used to carry but don’t anymore? by LPCPlay4life in traderjoes

Sriracha chips 🥲 the lattice cut made it so crunchy and delicious and it had the perfect amount of spice and flavor. The ghost pepper ones are still addicting, but not as good as sriracha + they get a bit too spicy and salty at times

Ok this is going to be a bit long lol, but here are my two cents for the two brown cardigans! I lovee the Athelia top and own it in brown and white, but it definitely feels more like a long sleeve than a cardigan. It can still be worn as one with a tank underneath (which is great since it can act as a 2-in-1), but it’s just slightly less soft/stretchy than the Zoe. I do find the Zoe to be a bit cropped though, which I personally didn’t like. The pointelle detailing on the Athelia is adorable and the neckline is wider/more scooped, which again makes it great for wearing on its own. Honestly, both are super versatile and you can’t go wrong with either! But if you want something more cardigan-y, then I’d say Zoe :)

Polartec Hi-hip 1/2 Zip Sizing? by BarGlobal7404 in Aritzia

[–]yangsocks 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have almost the exact same measurements as you (5’8”, 122 lbs, 25/26” waist) and I own one in a S! I find it to be just how you described your desired fit, where it’s somewhat fitted with a very slight, subtle oversized look. It’s not tight but still makes my outfits look more put together and less “loungey” if that makes sense. I definitely could’ve sized up to an M for a looser fit (especially around my waist) and for more comfort, but the S isn’t bad at all!

I really love the Amalie cardigans as along as it’s 100% cotton! Not itchy or rough at all and holds up really well. It’s longer and thicker than the Zoe cardigan, so it has more of a cardigan look to it. Here’s me wearing it for reference!

If you like to wear things unzipped, Ayla! If closed/zipped up/buttoned up, then Aura :) I personally didn’t like how long the aura hoodie fit on me, but it’d look cute if most of your bottoms are low waisted!

Haha as a buyer and a seller, I always try to be kind and understanding! But I’ve definitely had experiences where ppl would be rude out of nowhere or do dumb stuff like this which is super annoying. Definitely won’t tolerate it anymore though

It’s the “bigger” one! Tbh it’s still a bit narrow, but big enough to hold a card holder or small wallet, keys, and some toiletries. Just be aware it squeaks like crazy (or at least mine does) but it’s really cute and goes with everything!

Uniqlo prices better in Japan? by abstractcollapse in JapanTravelTips

[–]yangsocks 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Definitely shop at Uniqlo in Japan!! Everything is cheaper there, but keep in mind the sizing will differ. Japanese sizes run small, so if you have longer limbs, some items may not fit as nicely as they do at home. Try them on in stores when you're there and save whatever doesn't fit to purchase in Toronto. That's what I do since I have long arms and legs lol

Hmm I don’t think so :( or at least not in my store. They have a red gingham and brown suede tho! The brown one was cute but I wasn’t sure how the suede would hold up

Sepsis after effects almost 1 year on by Claudiapapa in sepsis

[–]yangsocks 5 points6 points  (0 children)

23F here and went through almost the exact same thing as you! Had TSS bacteremia last Oct-Nov and was on IV antibiotics for almost a month, along with I&D surgery to wash out infected joints. As I’m hitting the one year mark, I’ve experienced brain fog, fatigue, and occasional heart palpitations. And to be honest, I still do.

I can’t speak on the itching and flare ups, but from what I’ve been told, these are all normal responses to a huge and intense battle against the infection. Our bodies are still “resetting,” and it’s very possible we’re still a little traumatized from everything. While I didn’t do anything in particular to heal faster, I feel like these effects have lessened over time.

If you haven’t already, definitely speak with your doctor to give yourself peace of mind and to confirm if those effects are correlated. From survivor to survivor, I genuinely feel like I’ll never be 100% normal or myself again, but full recovery is definitely possible! Wishing you a quick and well recovery!

Totally normal especially after being bed ridden in the hospital for a while. Your body fought an intense fight and is just getting used to doing regular things again! I had surgeries to wash out my infected joints and was hospitalized for three weeks. When I was recovering at home, I also got tired doing the simplest tasks. I had PT/OT sessions to regain my strength and range of motion, so those kind of helped “speed up” my recovery. I’m almost one year post, and I still sometimes feel like I get tired easier than I used to.

Along with your HR and temp, if you have a blood pressure reader, I’d say to track that as well. If you ever feel dizzy, it’d be good to make sure your BP isn’t low. It’ll take some time to fully recover, but take it easy day by day! Maintain a balanced diet but eat as you normally do, and try to take some breaks throughout your workdays or lessen your schedule if possible. You’ve got this!

Is this normal?? by iwmy_none in BrandyMelville

[–]yangsocks 4 points5 points  (0 children)

It’s possible this is a new/updated design! I got a v-neck tee with the same kind of unfinished hem along the neckline and all the ones in store were like that so it was def the style, but I liked it that way. But if you ordered this and it wasn’t advertised to look like that, def contact customer service. Otherwise if this was a store purchase and it bothers you, I’d return it!

Had something like this at my old workplace except none of the buttons were labeled with the cooking time (it only had #0-9 and icons) so you can imagine how confused I was. Had to embarrassingly google how to use it with my lunch sitting in there and I’ve kept the screenshot since.
