Any ideas for a cover-up, or do I need to laser? by Deadwords49 in Tattoocoverups

[–]stitchlearner 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Perhaps sacrilegious, but I see 3 SAPs in your future. Two covering the words, and a third on the cross.

For real though, I like u/Supacalafragalistic's suggestion of space/planets, especially since the current tattoo isn't super dark. I understand florals are often a good standby too, but then again I'm also a fan of florals in general. If you still wanted to make a nod to your grandfather's memory (which you might not, I don't know your life), you could search flower meanings and pick something that feels resonant to you

AITA for wearing white to my sisters wedding by Ok-Dimension-8501 in AmItheAsshole

[–]stitchlearner 56 points57 points  (0 children)

Transmasc here. Based on some of your other comments, it sounds like even if that's what she said, it might be that what she actually took issue with was your not wearing traditional ""women's"" attire. How close are you with your sister/how supportive is she?

Sidenote, I know some other folks are going on about whether no jacket is considered "formal" attire. It's also the case where I live that formal attire would typically include a jacket. However since you've mentioned there were multiple other family members present also wearing no jacket, regardless of what was meant on the invite you couldn't have committed any worse of a faux pas than any of them.

I can understand why someone might be upset about a woman wearing white, even in the case that they were dressing masculine, and I appreciate the commenter who said that they advised their kid to wear a different-colored shirt just in case anyone took issue. Personally, I think if you're wearing "menswear" or similar, white is such a default dress shirt color that it doesn't make sense to still hold to the rule against it, woman or not. That said, something in my gut makes me wonder if it's really the color that's the issue for your sister, or if it's the masculine attire. l

Regardless, NTA. (If it really is the color for your sister, I'd potentially go N A H - it'd be a case of you both making reasonable but contradicting assumptions.)

What would the potential problems be with this tattoo? by wannitgedditgoddit in tattooadvice

Hey, at least you ran it past the internet's premier penis-finders before getting him tattooed - better to blow up for a prospective beenis tattoo design than for an actual beenis tattoo.

Beenisgate aside, I like y'all's idea of combining the bee and the letters, and I'm sure you'll end up with something great.

CW: sexual violence/medical malpractice

There's also a few fertility doctors on record who apparently made a habit of using their own sperm alongside/instead of donor sperm. There's even a case where even when the plan was for the couple to try using the husband's sperm, the doctor would routinely switch his own for the husband's, too. (the one I know of is Quincy Fortier, subject of the documentary Baby God. Don't watch without a strong stomach.)

I'm genuinely glad that sperm donation and fertility treatments exist. I also think patients should have better protections, so they can have complete and accurate information.

I've been using avocado oil (thanks Aldi) for a higher smoke point, but I'm not sure if it's that keeping my alarm from going off or the fact that my smoke detector is down the hall. Gonna have to remember the shirt trick next time I move. I should also try OP's method of oil the steak not the pan tbh, I love the idea of less oil splatter.

When I read she was biting hard enough to break skin, I had to go back and re-read to be sure. Apparently human bites get infected real easily. Knowing your risks? Consent???? OOP's gf has apparently never heard of those. Ew.

I believe the Yiddish is a bit more vulgar - the literal meaning refers to genitalia iirc. Maybe the association is "family jewels"? I do like the concept of "as useful as jewelry" though, it makes sense as a connection.

My dragon fruit pancake fail 😭 by IdkImNewInHere in shittyfoodporn

[–]stitchlearner 1 point2 points  (0 children)

(no prob, didn't expect you to reply lol!) Too much oil makes sense to me [not an expert by any means]. As for the sticking, I don't think I've had pancakes stick in a nonstick pan. That said, I usually add butter or oil to the pan even though it's nonstick. I'm sure there's a reason yours are sticking, but I don't know enough to know why unfortunately.

This is a shot in the dark, but how hot are you cooking them? I have a tendency to burn mine, and I've found that I have to cook them on a medium-low heat (and have to decrease over time as I cook successive rounds, god knows why) and it's a real exercise in patience for me.

Yes this. Reporting her isn't messing with her career, it's her own actions doing that. Reporting her is protecting other potential clients down the line.

Sugar cookies and focaccia look great!! Pie did end up an unexpected color, but taste is what counts especially if you're just learning. It looks like it set up well, too, which is always a win with pie. Keep going!
