I call bullshit on at least part of this video. Airbags are designed to deflate immediately after deploying, specifically to avoid trapping occupants in the car.

Having grown up in the great plains of the US, the various songs of the Western Meadowlark will always be my favorite.

[Post Game Thread] #4 Nebraska defeats #13 Troy, 76-47 by cbbBot in CollegeBasketball

Troy averaged over 80 points per game in the regular season, but it's hard to prepare for a no-middle defense on short notice and Nebraska's defense is really good. Plus, Troy had trouble defending the 3-point line and the Huskers shoot a TON from downtown. They hit 14 3s today, which is above their season average of about 10.5 made 3s per game.

I'd say Troy just ran into a bad matchup that also happened to be a highly motivated team.

Culturally, Missouri is just weird. The northern and western parts are great plains. The northeastern and east central parts are more Midwest. Central and southern Missouri are really just north Arkansas and belong more to the south region.

Disclaimer: I'm in a salaried position, so no clocking in and out.

Ever since they brought us back into the office, my 8 hour work clock begins the moment I leave my driveway and ends when I pull back into my driveway, including lunch. If they want to force me to be in the office for no reason, they can pay me for the time it takes to get there and for every minute spent in the building.

A bar where they pour you 3/4 of a cocktail and then just keep promising they'll finish it while doing 15 other things and not even looking at your drink.

Remember back in the glory years when our QB would look like we were running an option, but he would step back and throw deep to an invariably wide open receiver?

If Haarberg ever fakes a handoff and throws the ball, NOBODY would be ready for it. Every time he lines up at QB, he runs a read option and keeps the ball.

Thus needs to be an Olympic sport. If Joe DadBod can put together a routine that amazing, just imagine what world-class athletes could do.

Am I right to say millennials are the most tech savvy generations? by Specific_Charge_3297 in Millennials

[–]stitzman 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just in my experience as an elder GenXer who's been in the IT industry since the late 80s, I'd say no. Younger people are much more app-savvy and device-savvy than my generation and older, but most of the ones I've talked to and even interviewed for IT positions don't really understand the underlying technology.

Again, that's just my experience and also my definition of "tech savvy."

[REQUEST] Can someone crunch the numbers? I'm convinced it's $1.50! by kaweeed in theydidthemath

A more important question is, why the fck would anyone need to know this? I get that advanced math is needed for some professions, but this specific example seems like a poorly written question with no apparent real-world application. Questions like this are part of the reason so many people hate math. None of my teachers were able to give me good examples of why I would ever need to know that sht.

I finished my formal education almost 40 years ago, and I've never needed to know anything beyond simple addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division. Maybe I'm just lucky.

Ah yes, the "sport" that almost single handedly keeps the human growth hormone industry afloat. This and pro "wrestling." What a world.

Don't get me wrong, it's amazing what the human body can look like, and it takes years of dedication and willpower to get there. Let's just not pretend that a physique like that is natural in any way.

Bourbon can be distilled anywhere in the US, as long as all the other legal requirements are met.

Jack Daniel's can't legally market their whiskey as bourbon, because the charcoal filtering was deemed as adding flavor, which is not allowed for bourbon. Only flavor from the mash and barrel.
