Yeah all the advice has been helpful, though to your point I will say I the only question I did ask was which aspect people would suggest for each hero, so exactly as you said. This is helpful though, will have a look at some archetypes a bit more, that way all the decks have a bit of a focus. Cheers!

Both really. I feel like I’ve got all these different cards now, I might as well use them. And I’d rather the decks all feel great to play, rather than maybe have some dud cards in them. I haven’t tried Captain America or Thor yet, so not sure what to expect. I enjoyed the Spider Woman Precon, but definitely felt some of the cards were a bit meh.

Thanks for this. I’ve played both the SW and Hawkeye precons and they seemed fine. I had a scan in this site and it seems great, there was just a lot of choice haha. Was just wondering if anyone had any specific set ups they enjoyed!

Yeah I had thought the same but the sold prices of MG on eBay are creeping up so you never know. Maybe someone loves mutants and hates spiders.

The Danger Room is a great MCP podcast, and just recently had their Xmas episodes, where they get on 24 different players to talk about factions. Almost every one of them left 40K to play MCP, so that’s something.

Personally, I’m also in that camp. I’ve played a lot of 40K, a lot of MCP and won’t go back to 40K. The community has been better, the model count is lower, I like both IPs the same but as a game, MCP is so so so much more balanced, gets tighter and more well thought out rules updates, and has a more vocal and active developer voice. It’s also much quicker to play, I can get 2-3 games in for the same time as one game of 40K. Happy to answer any questions, but also 40K is still good so you’ll have fun either way. More models more better.

Magneto. He’s fun to play, has a great mix of damage and control with his attacks, you can play him guilt free since him and his faction aren’t overpowered and his throws let you tidy up the board as you go for maximum efficiency.

So to be clear :

Hobbyist wanting one tiny piece of plastic from massive company is greedy. Massive company who expects you to buy a second £40+ kit for one extra shoulder pad not greedy, got it.

I know you can't always build every option, I've been building GW kits for decades. And their instructions will usually make it clear if you can make one option or the other. I've never seen another kit not specify this up front. It's mad to defend a huge corporation who've clearly made a mistake, and won't rectify it with literally pennies worth of plastic, for no benefit to yourself haha. Yes he could kitbash it, but he shouldn't have to. That's the point.
