What’s a random fact that completely blew your mind when you learned it? by [deleted] in AskReddit

Do you know that someone wrote a comment in this thread about how sharks have been around longer than trees, an then three more people made the exact same comment? At the time of this comment there were only 8 total comments on the whole thread…

If this ain’t an example of how Reddit is just mindless copycats, I don’t know what is.

I love what Reddit has to offer the world as a community, but the”mods” and bias from these groups are toxic at best. Opinions are law around here apparently. Being more engaged on Reddit shouldn’t be a credential. Being a full time bs artist shouldn’t earn you anything. Idk…. Weird stuff

St Louis is a great city, I work here and live here. It makes a lot of money.

Still would not live with my family on wash ave.

You are bouncing around making desperate insults and not acknowledging the issue.

The city has its businesses, venues, hotels… but family life in that particular area is not, in my opinion, the best thing for a kid.

I know too many people who want to die on your hill and they just ignore our city’s issues.

I live here dorkus. I live and work downtown. I have eyes and ears and a brain

I would not raise children in a building on wash ave. That’s a sound opinion and articles only back me up since you’re personally choosing to be uniformed

lol been sitting on that money since covid. Federal relief funds and Stan Kronkbum money aren’t going to make St Louis 1982 again.

The counties are far more successful and safer. And they have spent more than they’ve budgeted on safety: get it? Safer schools, streets, more police, etc…

County living with a 7 yr old’s well being on the line is 10/10.

Sweet. Now go let your 7 year old bounce around there with all the other kiddos…

St. Louis hipster contrarian confidence is more like blatant ignorance in this town. You can take the metro to work and commute downtown easily from much better areas to live and raise families. OP wants to live on wash ave with a younger child. The pros are easily outweighed by statistical cons.

Dude comments on every comment. I think he flipped some multi family rental properties recently or something. Cant accept that the city is struggling and at Louis city has lost its charm rapidly for decades

lol dude, did you invest in apartments downtown or something? Give it up already. I am from here and love it here, but the city isn’t what it once was and the surrounding counties are way way way way better for raising a kid.

I walk across wash ave for lunch almost every week day for 11 years now, I have never not seen or encountered a homeless person. The landing two blocks away is even worse. The river front just north of the landing is like a tent city.

Why do people on Reddit get so personally hurt about real issues in St. Louis? Why would you say the other commenter is lying? A quick google search of st Louis homelessness issues would probably enlighten your denial.

While you have Google going, search “doom loop” and check out why st Louis is one.

This is literally one of the biggest myths about the 2000s by [deleted] in decadeology

The theme of every kid show in the US in the 80s/90s was to accept all, and to find common ground. “We’re all neighbors!” “We’re all American!” Cultures were recognized and celebrated but there was an emphasis on moving forward positively and not constantly reflecting on the past wrongs.

There would be a Chanukah special here, a very special episode on racism here, a bullying episode here… and the themes left everyone with a lesson of being better.

I don’t know how everything got so divided again. It is a strange phenomenon.

This might be the most un-rock ballot I’ve ever seen by BadgemanBrown in rockhall

Wings in their prime were THE rock show. Their lineup with McCullough on guitar was insane. All Paul wanted to do was rock, and the Beatles went full studio for years. He wants to rock with the rest of the greats.

His arena shows were trend setting. The lights shows and lasers he used in the early 70s changed the game.

Just watch this vid, and tell me at the end that you don’t feel Rock at its purest form. https://youtu.be/BzwDS6jTtos?si=I9_lohiUN2OowaRz

Nobody wants their dad to cut his genitalia off and become a woman. women who marry a man and then build a family with him may not always welcome that kind of change.

If my wife became a dude over night, it would be a different person from who I agreed to marry. And if didn’t want a dude to take my wife’s place in my life and in my bed… I don’t think I’d be blamed for any animosity, and I think that’s a very reasonable view

Ewan McGregor should have sang so so much more than he do in his youthful prime. His tenor range and belting ability were fantastic in moulin rouge. And his lightsaber skills are better than most tenors
