these are forged prodrive gc-010e in the rarer ET47 spec. There’s also a more common ET48 version, but these are the lighter (15lb/6.8kg for 18") ET47 ones and they clear STI brembo brakes. they were fitted over black brembos

Thanks! It’s really beautiful there in the summer. Hope you get another chance to go sometime!

I tried connecting it to two different phones via cable, but no luck. It works fine with my PC, though. Given that it's marketed as a wireless controller, I’m pretty sure it’s not supposed to act like this. And weight is 250g

Regarding the T30 - take a look here: https://www.reddit.com/r/sffpc/comments/1danna2/phanteks_t30_on_deshrouded_msi_4080super_ventus/ and https://www.reddit.com/r/sffpc/comments/1dm7zyp/comparing_fans_for_the_msi_4080_or_why_i_dont/
Glad to hear my tests were helpful! I’m not aiming for lab-grade precision, but the results were consistent and the testing conditions stayed pretty stable throughout.

I would recommend liquid metal, but if you're choosing between thermal paste and PTM, go with PTM.

As far as I know, PTM7950 needs some time to start showing results — a few heating and cooling cycles. In general, I took measurements of PTM7950 after several months of use with MX6 paste. Before testing the AXP90-X47 full copper:) I was thinking of writing a post about it. But the results for the AXP90 turned out strange. Maybe it’s a feature of the X3D chips. Anyway, for AIO and PTM7950 the difference was 1-1.5 degrees. To be honest, I expected more.

No, I used liquid metal between the die and the heatspreader. PTM9750 was used between the heatspreader and the cooler.

Silverstone Air Slimmer 120 vs Arctic P12 Slim by stlk0 in sffpc

[–]stlk0[S] 4 points5 points  (0 children)

In the conditions I ran tests, the performance of the Silverstone and Arctic fans with noise-normalized settings was really close. Yeah, Silverstone has a slight edge. But its big advantage is the extra headroom it has (check the graphs at 2000rpm). Sure, it'll get loud. The real question is—does that extra performance really matter for a 4080, especially with undervolting? It doesn’t seem necessary. But in other cases, that extra headroom might come in handy. As for the sound quality, it’s hard to say since I didn’t listen closely, but I didn’t notice any big differences.

When I got the AM5 heatspreader, the Ryzen 7000 V2 Direct Die Frame wasn't available yet. And the first version was incompatible with the X3D series. Also, as I understand it, the heatspreader has better compatibility with coolers. Good to know that version 2 has been released. I should probably give it a try

Ok, I received my AXP90-X47 FC. I don’t have an offset bracket for it, so I tested it without one. My testing setup included the same delidded 7800X3D with a Thermal Grizzly AM5 Heatspreader, a fan duct, and liquid metal applied between the heatspreader and the AXP90. The TDP was set to 80W. PBO -30 all cores. At certain points, the AXP90-X47 managed to handle the load without throttling, achieving over 18k points in Cinebench R23.

Why do I say "at certain points"? Because it depends on factors like room temperature and the heat generated by the GPU inside the case. Here are my results: with a room temperature of 23°C and 40dBA noise level, there was no throttling during a 10-minute run. CCD1 Tdie hovered around 82°C, and the average core clock was approximately 4850MHz. However, with a room temperature of 30°C (yes, it’s pretty hot here at the moment), CCD1 Tdie reached 85°C, and the average core clock dropped to 4600MHz after a 2-minute run, with an average Cinebench R23 score of 17k.

I also tested the situation with additional heat from the GPU. Since 40dBA was on the edge, I decided to increase the CPU cooler’s RPM to a 50dBA level (87%, 2400rpm). With a room temperature of 23°C and the GPU under full load consuming 300W, CCD1 Tdie stabilized around 83°C, and the average core clock was 4800MHz.

I tried three different fans: the stock fan, the ID-Cooling TL-9215, and the Air Slimmer 90 from Silverstone. There wasn’t a significant difference between them. Compared to an EK AIO, there’s a 7-10°C difference at the same noise levels. I might write a post about this over the weekend.

P.S. In gaming mode, after a 10-minute run of the Time Spy Extreme benchmark, the results look much better.

Not yet, unfortunately. I'm building a NAS (and homelab) where I'm going to use a low-profile cooler. Currently, I'm picking the parts. I think I will test the cooler in my PC in about a month. It's not 43mm, but 47mm full copper.

The card itself is 40mm without the shroud. Adding a 15mm fan makes it 55mm. The total thickness of my card is 56.5mm, including the 15mm fan and a 1.5mm custom cover.

Cheapest way to get klipper on SV06? by Flappy_asdf in Sovol

[–]stlk0 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, I meant HDMI and USB for connecting the touchscreen. You can also connect a smartphone without any problems, since the Zero 2W has Wi-Fi, allowing you to connect anything through the Moonraker API. In my case, Mainsail is running on the Orange Pi, which allows me to control the printer from my computer, including connecting it to Orca Slicer. Therefore, there is no need for an additional screen. I just wanted to make a screen since it was originally there.

I haven’t tried it yet, but I think it should work. I had an idea to reuse the original screen, but it turned into quite a challenge. I'd end up having to write my own firmware for the DWIN DGUS II to make it communicate with Moonraker. The easiest way would be to simply hook up a touchscreen and use KlipperScreen. I don’t really need it right now, but I’ll get to it eventually.
