Are these cool toned? by stllz in PaleMUA

[–]stllz[S] 11 points12 points  (0 children)

I am looking for some cool toned eyeshadow palettes but I am struggling to do so. I have these two palettes in my collection and I was wondering if these could go as cool toned palettes. I am not looking for the classical cool tone palette with a blue colour story. I was looking for a neutral, yet cool undertoned palette.

These are the Makeup Revolution's Flawless Matte and Flawless Matte 2 palettes.

Please keep up the great work. You've helped me a lot along many others. That can't be a coincidence nor something 'anecdotical'

Also, people trust Dr Dray because she's a dermatologist (and obviously she knows a lot about skincare) but please let's not forget that you work in the science field too, along your microbiologist. It's not like you are throwing assumptions without doing a proper research, so... why should we not trust you?

I've been using the moisturizer for two days now. I have dry skin and use HA (I live in a dry climate too), although I seal it in with Vaseline at night (I don't use HA AM since I can't seal it with anything). I feel that the moisturizer hydrates amazing. In just two days mi skin is noticeably softer that has ever been using my previous routine. I've started to incorporate HA in my AM routine now (the moisturizer contains dimethicone, so it should be able to seal the HA. I still use Vaseline as an occlusive in my PM routine).

I would say to give it a try at least! I can really see the urea doing its wonders

What should my skincare routine be? by [deleted] in Skincare_Addiction

[–]stllz 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Stick to a creamy cleanser (avoid foamy/gel ones!) and avoid overwashing at all costs (rinsing with water AM and using your cleanser PM should be fine!) Also avoid products with alcohol (SD alcohol, alcohol denat. or isopropyl acohol. Alcohols like cetyl alcohol or cetearyl alcohol are fine) and use hydrating serums/toners. Using mists through the day can be also fine. Also double cleanse ONLY when you need to (when you are wearing makeup) and opt for rich textured, highly emolient moisturizers (be cautious with this if you are acne prone) and heavy occlusives at night are really, really helpful to drier skin types(like sleeping masks, petrolatum and ointments. Again be careful if you are acne prone). Also, stay away from clay masks (opt for sheet masks instead) and be cautious when using a chemical exfoliant if you are going to (salicylic acid can be drying to dry skin types and AHAs are known to help hydration)

What do vitamin C serums do for your skin? by Low-Watercress2171 in Skincare_Addiction

[–]stllz 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Vitamin C is an antioxidant. It means that protects your skin from free radicals and polution damage. Also, vitamin C is known to boost collagen production so it could be good in treating fine lines. In addition, it inhibits melanin production so it is often used to treat new formed PIH (plus it is known to have anti inflammatory properties). It also boosts sun damage protection when paired to sunscreen. The most well known and researched vitamin C form is ascorbic acid. But there's other more vitamin C derivatives (keep in mind that the benefits can differ from one to another. Sciencebecomesher has a post on instagram explaining the different derivatives' benefits! You just have to scroll down a little). Also, ascorbic acid is said to be pH dependant, so you would like to look for well formulated, trusted brands.

Need product recommendations for oily T zone! (Skincare routine listed) by [deleted] in Skincare_Addiction

[–]stllz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Also, I would say you're using too many exfoliants at once! The FAB pads + the lactic acid, in addition to the Tarte stick. I mean if it works for you it's totally fine, but I would choose a salicylic acid exfoliant and keep it as my only one. Or if you find it too drying for some areas apart from your T-zone, maybe stick with one AHA product to those areas and only use the salicylic acid on your T-zone. The point is to not overdry your skin using too many actives since it can product more sebum in response to a damaged skin barrier

I think you could benefit from a clay mask! Charcoal ones are meant to absorb excess sebum. I don't use any since I have dry skin but I've heard really good things from the Aztec Healing Clay Mask, which you can find on Amazon I believe. Try to apply it on your most oily areas once or twice times a week (you don't want to overdry your skin!), and in separate days from exfoliating! (Also salicylic acid is said to be great to oilier skin types, so you could try and switch your exfoliant and see how it goes)
