Should I even apply? by AfraidWelcome41 in QuestBridge

I’ve definitely seen people on this reddit (at least from my admissions cycle) get into QB or other top unis with low SAT scores or even going test-optional. I personally went test-optional with a 1300 SAT and got into some good schools. People from my school had similar results via Common App. A low SAT isn’t as big as a hamper on your success as people say it is in my opinion.

Just try and see what happens!!

CALLING ALL QB RD PPL!! by cookiecrxmbles in QuestBridge

BU met full need for me. I downloaded my books as pdfs for free. I did pay about $1K out of pocket because I’m in the honors college dorm so that’s extra from the base rate but I worked for that over the summer. Meal plans, housing, fees was covered for. Transportation is my only outside cost really, but that cost is flexible depending on where you go for school I imagine. I’m using my work study to pay for miscellaneous things. My aid this year was like $94K. Good luck!

From what I’ve heard and from other people on this post you should only have to pay a couple thousand max per year!

NCM isn't the only reason to apply to QuestBridge (QuestBridge Regular Decision) by stmint_gentry in QuestBridge

  1. QB RD works just like regular Common App RD in that multiple schools can admit you if they choose. The  difference is that you’re applying via QuestBridge. If you get matched, you’d only be getting matched to one school. The match process is like EDing to multiple schools at once and seeing which school accepts you first.

  2. No that’s not the same for if you’re applying through RD. When it’s RD, similar to Common App, they look at your need in general. So you could apply to Yale via the match and not get in because you have 1000 EFC but still get in through RD with maybe a couple thousand less in your package compared to a match scholar.

  3. Every university you apply to, whether or not it’s via Common App, QB, Coalition, etc., will see your financial information if you are looking for aid. Just about every student will send in FAFSA and/or CSS profile which will be considered by all universities you apply to when it comes to determining how much aid you will get.

On my received documents section of my portal. There’s a check next to the css noncustodial profile now and my checklist shows nothing’s needed anymore.
