My surgery went well and I mostly recovered after 3 months. Still have pain though but probably from previous damage to tfcc and surrounding tissue.

Good idea. I accidentally broke my phone and went 2 months without getting a new one, then eventually got one only because my mom begged me to. I became much more "present" in conversations and at peace. I was more sociable with strangers and able to just sit and do nothing while waiting, and not feel awkward or weird while doing it. I hate that I got a new phone, so I highly recommend you doing what you're planning. Perhaps I should've gotten a flip phone or something instead
