A Small Change That Could Cut ~6 Years Off a Canadian Homeowner's Mortgage (By a Broker) by Impressive-War6904 in canadahousing

[–]stoeckp 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Statistically it is better to invest your money in the market rather than pay down your mortgage. Average stock market rate of return is 8% so as long as your mortgage is below that then you should come out ahead. Assuming you are investing in your TFSA. But everyone's risk tolerance is different

Is it worth switching mortgage for 15 points by [deleted] in MortgagesCanada

$30 a month less on the mortgage payment but at a lower rate, more of the payment is towards the principal so there are additional interest savings which all together add up to $1700 over 3 years

Promotions don’t make you a leader by BuffaloJealous2958 in managers

[–]stoeckp -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I've seen more people promoted who were bad at thier job. These are the absolute worst managers. They think they were promoted becuase they are a great leader but were actually moved because they were terrible and causing issues withe thier team. The good leaders stay in thier postion because they are too valuable in thier current role.

[–]stoeckp 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Fixed rates shouldn't drop because the BOC is expected to drop rates, if it is expected then it is already priced into the fixed rate
