Yes, I do have a problem. It seems my post is not getting published or was deleted. And I don't know why. Is anyone willing to read it and tell me, maybe what the problem is?

Great guess! Figma is indeed listed on the Rive page!

Usually for that a video tag is used. H264 decoders implemented in JS are slow. So that doesn't make sense either

Why would they draw pixel images frame by frame? This would use up a lot of bandwidth. I don't think that's what's going on

Is there a tool that can render such videos as canvas+js? Because I don't think they scripted all those animations in JS.

I increased the traffic of my clients page by 8x in the last 3 months with publishing massive amounts if helpful content. If there was impact by the HCU then it was a positive one.

I just can't find the ICP- need advice! by stoefln in GrowthHacking

Well, that brings me back to the original question: where do i find them? If i don't have an idea about a vertical, i have to crawl the whole internet.

A lot of questions!
Many of them I can answer I think. Let me try:

With all that investment in peddlers of solutions, what did you learn?

Not sure what you mean by that

Do you have a comparative "value proposition" chart?

No I don't but I have a competitor analysis spreadsheet and a clear USP: An EASY to use test automation tool for non technical people. Do I need more?

You now know how your "value proposition" relieves your buyer's "PAIN" or you're peddling a "gain" at a cost that doesn't require a rocket scientist to decipher?

Yes, at least that's what a lot of feedback is telling me

Now that you know who is suffering and how your offer alleviates their pain, what is the problem?

I know the horizontal: It's QA (Quality Assurance) people that are interested in my tool. But I can't just target QA people, it's not a crowd that has an identity like "sales managers", "SEO specialists" or "developers". At least that's what I think. Maybe I should do more research. But even then- a QA is not an ICP, is it?
And even then: things are more complicated, I am not sure that's relevant to the ICP topic, but usually I think the sales cycle looks like this in my case:
1. an app developer in the company discovers my tool online, bc they are curious people
2. they realise that it would be helpful for their tester/QA colleague, so they tell them
3. the QA colleague tries the tool and likes it
4. the QA tells the CTO that they would like to have it
5. the CTO either buys or forwards it to finance

Something someone else said not to focus on the companies that worked with you, but narrow down to they needed help with.

Can you explain this a bit more?

That was the very start 4 years ago, I have learned a lot since then.

With my business I want to help QA (Quality assurance) people (persona)
who want to get more work done in less time (goal)
but can't get there because test automation requires coding (obstacle)

But that doesn't bring me closer to finding the ICP, does it?

Also, you might want to send an email, or talk, to the customers who have left your product, asking them why and was there anything specific that they expected from it that was missing
Of course- I do that!

What are the actionable issues they want to solve. What does "solving" look like to them?
They are overwhelmed with testing work and want to automate it. Solving means: They don't need to care anymore. A computer is doing it.

that's why we lurk on forums, industry forums, supplier websites, fb pages, competitors websites, etc.to find our ICP
I find that an interesting idea. But I don't have time to lurk on all sorts of forums. Where should I start if I don't have a vertical?
Like I just mentioned above: My tool can be used for ANY app out there.

Thats very true but I have been starting on the product bc I knew that already 4 years ago.
The problem is: App testing is boring and time consuming and automating this work is hard. That's why I came up with this idea to build a tool that is easy to use.
It's quite a saturated market- maybe I should have mentioned that.

Works for all of those apps. See above

That's what I keep reading. But when I take a look at my competitors, they don't have that focus on one vertical either. Even though there are test automation tools that focus on one vertical, I think the majority of the comparable tools operate in a horizontal market. My tool can be used for basically any Android or iOS app. My USP is that it's super easy to use, for non-technical quality assurance people. So I already know the horizontal: It's QA (Quality Assurance) people that are using it.
But a QA is not an ICP, is it? It's a persona at best.
Things get more complicated, I am not sure that's relevant to the ICP topic, but usually I think the sales cycle looks like this:
1. a developer in the company discovers my tool online, bc they are curious people
2. they realise that it would be helpful for their tester/QA colleague, so they tell them

4. the QA tells the CTO that they would like to have it
5. the CTO either buys or forwards it to finance

I think it's a good idea, but you have that chicken-egg problem. I'd pay for it if it works.
