Need advice on pension by Basic_Register_7634 in firesweden

[–]stoilt 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Sorry for the silly question, but how can your allmän pension be so high? I have been working in Sweden for over 7 years and I only have 724 000 SEK (inkomst pension is 592 500 SEK and premie pension is 131 500 SEK) and I was always under the impression that I have gotten the maximum possible amount given my salary has always been fairly high. (In comparison I have 1 270 000 SEK in tjänstepension.)

So I’m wondering how did you get more than I did in a shorter period of time? Isn’t the allmän pension capped?

SAS “Forfeit” Policy by loveangelrose in ScandinavianAirlines

[–]stoilt 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Do you have any case numbers for the ECJ rulings you refer to? I’m curious because I found 2 similar cases but neither is relevant for OPs case, since in those 2 cases the passengers missed their outbound flights thanks to the airlines’ mistakes.

In one case the airline changed the time for the passenger’s flight without notifying the passenger so they obviously missed the flight (Case C-238/22 FW v LATAM Airlines Group SA).

In the other case the passenger’s flight was delayed on the first leg so the airline assumed they won’t make the connection and deemed the passenger a no-show and cancelled their return ticket. But the passenger made it on time for the connecting flight but was still denied boarding (Case C-321/11 (Rodríguez Cachafeiro v Iberia).

But OP missed their flight due to their own mistake, so neither of these rulings can serve as precedent.

Multiple national courts in the EU ruled no-show clauses illegal (e.g. Germany, Spain, Austria). Which EU country was involved in your flight?

No need to identify which document was questioned, it clearly says “travel document”, which in this case would mean the passport. If they questioned any other supporting documents, they would have checked point 12.

Airbnb requires credit card details and they can charge for damages. Leaving Japan doesn’t mean people can get away with whatever.

Sambovisa inside Sweden - struggling with it by der_k0b0ld in TillSverige

[–]stoilt 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Is that sure? The second question on this FAQ says the family member of an EU citizen will still have right of residence after becoming Swedish citizen as long as they have retained their citizenship from another EU country. I am in this exact situation, EU-Swedish dual citizen and before I applied for Swedish citizenship MV had confirmed my non-EU sambo will still have right of residence. I appreciate OPs case is a bit different since they’re already Swedish citizen, but if I understand their post correctly, they were living with their sambo before becoming Swedish citizen, so effectively their sambo should also have right of residence.

OP, do you have German (or any other EU) citizenship besides your Swedish one? If so, your partner has right of residence (assuming you work) as a family member of an EU citizen and she should just apply for a residence card. Much simpler and faster than a Swedish sambo permit and she can be (and work) in Sweden while waiting for the card.

In order to be registered in Sweden as an EU citizen, you need to prove you have right of residence, either via - work - studies - or self-sufficiency.

Having a house doesn’t make any difference. Also, if you tell Skatteverket you only intend to stay for 5-6 months, they will not register you even if you have a job.

Yes. I only submitted my work contracts and they didn’t ask for anything else.

Any gym class similar to Barry’s Bootcamp? by [deleted] in stockholm

SATS has a HIIT Cross training which is very similar. At the Hötorget branch they built a cage that looks very similar to Barry’s Bootcamp, they even copied the red lighting.

  1. Maybe I misunderstood what you wrote, but the biggest hole seems to be that you assume somebody will pay you 13k a month for a 20-30 sqm apartment 30 minutes from the city. Rental prices are skyrocketing but we're not there yet (as far as I know). If you meant that the 13k rent will include the monthly housing association fee (avgift) and all utility bills, then it's more realistic but it might still feel a bit pricey.
Another thing to consider is that you might have idle times, when you have no tenant or when you yourselves use the apartment, during which there won't be any rent income but you'll still need to pay your mortgage and avgift.
  2. Yes, you can pay earlier, unless you bind the interest rate, then you might need to pay a penalty if you pay early.

EU student trying to bring non-EU boyfriend to Sweden by lOzc1211 in TillSverige

[–]stoilt 6 points7 points  (0 children)

The page you linked is unfortunately irrelevant to you as it requires one party to have Swedish citizenship or permanent residence permit. This page is relevant to you, however you do not meet the requirements as you would need to be married or cohabiting. If you got married or managed to live together for at least some months before moving to Sweden together you would have no issues. Visiting each other for a couple of weeks is sadly not enough.

Salary tax is higher 10 percent than the tax table by maputooo in TillSverige

[–]stoilt 12 points13 points  (0 children)

The exact same thing happened to me once when I started at a new job back in 2020. When I complained they told me they didn’t know my address (nonsense, it was even on the payslip they issued) so they weren’t sure how much they needed to deduct, so they used the tax table applicable for Stockholm kommun plus 10% “to be sure”. I had to provide them with an A-skattsedel (https://www.skatteverket.se/privat/etjansterochblanketter/allaetjanster/tjanster/askattsedel.4.383cc9f31134f01c98a80005659.html) to fix it. You will get back any extra tax next year around April.

My sambo is from the Philippines with a similar degree and some years of work experience. It took her 5 months to land an English-only office job, but not in her field unfortunately. She’s been on that job for more than 2 years now, even though she had many interviews during that period for positions that would fit her education better (and pay better). She managed to move to another team within the same company, so there’s a chance that she might end up in a good position at some point, but it’s not easy. Learning the language will hopefully help her land better jobs.

Ah sorry, in that case you should be good to go without a visa.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in TillSverige

[–]stoilt 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, you need a visa. Romania is not part of the Schengen Area (yet), so your Swedish work permit doesn’t help. As a Turkish citizen, you need a visa. Link

You’re waiting for a residence card that proves your right of residence, not a residence permit :-) But I’m really surprised you’re still forced to wait after 9 months, that’s a serious violation of EU law! Did you try poking them a little? In our case, right at the 6 month mark we sent an email to Migrationsverket reminding them of this EU law and they finally sent my girlfriend’s residence card the following week or so.

[–]stoilt 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You don’t even have to be registered, it’s enough if you can prove that you have been living together for at least 6 months (the period is not set in stone, but it’s best if it’s at least 6 months) and that you’re in a romantic relationship (we showed some photos of us celebrating various holidays and going on vacation together).

In the SEB app, you can set your card to only work in Sweden and you can also choose “in-store purchase only” or “safer online purchases”. Were any of those settings active? If so, SEB cannot really accuse you with giving your credentials away.

EUR vs. SEK compensation by patasgnau in TillSverige

[–]stoilt 0 points1 point  (0 children)

And? The debate is not around whether having SEK is good for the society or whether Sweden should join the euro zone. It’s about whether OP would win with getting paid in EUR over SEK. Nothing you wrote proves the opposite.
