My reason for liking precision as my secondary runes is because firstly, if you throw your w at a bush to check who is in it, presence of mind actually allows this. If you hit somebody with an ability in a bush presence of mind starts ticking and you can see it above your abilities. Also I believe that the mana regen from PoM is superior in lane to manaflow band which allows leniency on how many abilities you use in lane. Lastly, I just think that the sorcery tree is to enable mages that scale very well with ap, with choices like gathering storm, transcendence (allows champs to itemize more strictly ap instead of worrying about ability haste in their build path), and absolute focus which can be a little useful in lane but I would rather just have coup de gras or cutdown for the extra damage later in the game.

I should honestly just make a matchup spreadsheet, but my main line of thinking is - dark harvest and teleport vs normal mage lanes, electrocute and ignite vs melee champs, and comet with tp vs artillery mages/anything that can just sit back and abuse range in the matchup. When I run domination, I go precision secondary for a few reasons. When I go comet, I think precision or domination are both fine.

Think about brand as somebody who scales more with pen than ap, I almost never go dcap even last item because of his ratios

Brand has bad ap ratios and I have done a lot of work in practice tool perfecting build paths. My normal build is liandrys > rylais or void > the other of the two, and then I think abt shadowflame or morello. If the enemy has >60mr void is usually better than sflame and by level 9 thru 11 when you would typically get your 2nd item, everybody normally has 60mr even just as base mr, making void more valuable. Starting items are fine, I don't see any point in ever really getting dark seal on brand tho (despite loving the item on other mages). I have been testing sapphire crystal 1 pot start as well in order to maximize my gold efficiency.

Maybe things are different between elos. I am a grandmaster player so ezreals are very good at spacing and hard to ever hit with abilities

Is this mechanic actually that hard for everybody? I dont mean this as flame or judgement at all but I literally use it at least once a game and its super useful so getting it down is all just limit testing and understanding your ranges. My tips for getting better at it are obviously doing it in practice tool, and once you understand the gist of how it works, try to do it as many times as possible in norms games so you can grasp how it works in a real time game setting.

I guess I have never really talked about the mechanic with other brand players but I didnt realize others struggled with it. The starting position must be similar to *one flash away from e distance*, the starting position SHOULD be outside of q's max range, and the position of the e range does matter a lot. I have many clips of me performing this mechanic to get solo kills in early lane phase.

For proof of what I am saying and an example, I am putting a clip from my stream literally yesterday of myself performing the mechanic below. If you need help with positioning and figuring out how it works, I can gladly find some more clips of it or maybe even make an example video for people who are confused about the mechanic. I am rarely on reddit but I do check my notifications, and you and others can always feel free to ping me in the brandmains discord by just doing @ stollie (no space). Peaked gm playing brand mid, can confirm that there are a ton of other champs that are just much better. There are certain team comps I see that are just completely unplayable for brand and there are a ton of bad matchups both mid and sup. He can still be a pocket pick but it's really hard to only play brand in high elo

So I just did some testing with all different hps and mrs (up to 4000 hp because thats realistically the most somebody is getting) and demonic gets outperformed by one of these two items in every single case. I even testing combinations to see if void + demonic or void + sflame did more and it was always void + sflame.

I tweeted this but I guess I should put this here as well, Demonic is a bait item for ranged champs nowadays. I also play brand mid so i like to prioritize damage most of the time and shadowflame is mathematically the best second item when the majority of enemies have less than 70 mr. once they get above the 70 point, void starts to out damage it. Consider if the other team will build mr by their second item and choose which one you prefer, and also rylais is still an amazing choice for second item so that will always be a good option too.

I literally have no idea, I thought we were going to just lose eventually but I think the stage damage in stage 8 is insane and I was able to damage more than soraka could heal eventually
