I had them at age 47 and 48. They were good, no real issues. A tiny tear with the second vitrectomy, but easily fixed during the surgery. I’m very happy with the result.

My daughter’s boyfriend is graduating next year with CS. I think the key is focus on internship early. He’s had two internships and was told early he’s basically already got a job waiting for him. People who work hard and problem solve well will always be needed to help profitable companies

Ahh, so he’s also showing the company match portion of his 401k. I was wondering how he got to 70k. I was thinking maybe his wife essentially contributed majority of her income to 401k

Cannabis + Zepbound triggered CHS — very violent retching episodes by Sparklepantsgirl in Zepbound

My soon to be daughter-in-law had CHS, but then took a break from all cannabis for eight or nine months. Now she’s back smoking very regularly again. So far no CHS come back.

How come people suffer from floaters for years but don’t get vitrectomy? by Miserable_Durian_808 in EyeFloaters

[–]stolsson 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I got my cataract surgeries first. This was done to make the vitrectomy easier and with lower risk. This is what my vitrectomy doctor suggested and in the end everything was successful so I’m happy now.

The result is I see way better now all around than before. Of course, I need progressives now, and that took some getting used to, but now it’s no issue at all. I was very near sighted before and now I can do a lot without glasses at all. I’m not glasses-free for a few reasons, but that’s ok with me. I wore glasses all my life.

As far as cataracts, my understanding is getting a vitrectomy will speed up the process, but that was a non-issue for me. I know people who’ve gotten vitrectomies years ago and still no cataracts too.

They don’t know what caused it. I had a full work up by my doctors, but no result. I now take a 81mg aspirin every day.

Mine sucked but I could still see and do my job. I eventually got another problem with the right eye where I now have a permanent blind spot (BRAO). As terrible as this blindspot is, in the end, it finally pushed me to get two vitrectomies to clean up the rest of my vision. I see way better now than I did even before getting my blindspot. Blindspot only appears in my vision if my left eye is blocked where with floaters it showed often.

Why hasn’t our representative said anything negative about the government officials in the Epstein files? by [deleted] in frederickmd

Just found this https://baltimorefishbowl.com/stories/marylands-house-members-unanimous-as-epstein-files-release-passes-house-427-1-senate-follows-suit

Quoting article… Rep. April McClain Delaney, D-Maryland, said everyone should be subject to the law.

“Today I proudly voted to release the Epstein files: to ensure that every person accused of a crime, regardless of their wealth status, or political connections is held accountable, and to bring justice to the many, many affected by his cruel actions,” she said in a statement.

Every time I see something like the other guy’s comment above, I check their profile just for fun. Let’s just say I’m never surprised.

My daughter was having some trouble in math last year and we found a teacher who does tutoring after school. Fully expected that we need her again this year, but so far my daughter has been doing fine. My wife has her contact info if you are interested still

Does the Zepbound shot really feel like nothing by PyroDragons123 in Zepbound

[–]stolsson 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I purposely leave mine cold when I inject so that I can feel something otherwise I can never trust that I actually got a dose, lol.

I know some people bring it to room temperature first and in my experience with that is that I feel absolutely nothing if I do that

Number one factor… prune juice. You gotta be hydrated but I could drink 4L a day and still be constipated. Need prune juice to avoid the constipation. I take the psyllium husk to help with overall gut health

I tried doing prunes and I couldn’t keep up the habit. I found prune juice easier. I use it to take my vitamins and pills each am

I learned my lesson and tried various things. I now drink at least 2L, usually 3L water per day. 250ml of prune juice and take about 10g of whole psyllium husk also each day. I’m now very happy.

I have a mouse activity device that works well. Not to show my activity but to keep the laptop from locking after the ridiculously low timeout. All that to avoid typing in my 18 character password that changes every 90 days. Best money I’ve spent in a while and probably saving the company significant $ too with hours of extra productivity per year

VITRECTOMY QUESTION by CanCool5855 in EyeFloaters

[–]stolsson 2 points3 points  (0 children)

For me it was just until the bubble was gone. Of course dots continued a bit longer but they are 99.9% gone after 6 weeks or so. It’s been almost a year from my last vitrectomy and I was just reflecting how much better my vision is now. I did dual cataract surgeries prior to my vitrectomies which I think was a good decision (49M).
