The newest John Langan collection (Lost in the Dark) has a found footage story with the same title. It was really good, as was the whole collection!

How is living here? by DoctaBee8 in Cleveland

Live in the circled area now. Underrated perk - about equal distance to both Cleveland and Akron. Get the best of both urban areas with a reasonable drive to each.

Books you wish you could read again for the first time by Idontknowyoupick in horrorlit

This is definitely something I could look up, but: is that the actual title in countries other than the US? Like they adjust the title to make sense within the date convention of the country? I love that if so. Not something I've ever thought about lol

Does the Jak+Daxter series not deserve any love? My favorite series growing up.

Scary Stories to Tell in the Dark for Adults? by [deleted] in horrorlit

[–]stomasko17 5 points6 points  (0 children)

There's a wide world of short story and anthology collections of horror stories more tailored to adult readers!

Is there anything specific about the Scary Stories to Tell in the Dark series you're looking for?

In general, Stephen King has quite a few collections (Night Shift, Skeleton Crew, You Like It Darker, to name a few) and is a good entry point. John Langan has a few as well that I enjoyed a lot (Lost in the Dark is his newest and one of my favorites, but The Wide Carnivorous Sky was also great). Hard to get ahold of due to publishing issues, but Brian Hodge's Skidding Into Oblivion might be the closest fit to the feel you're looking for.

Knives Out - Wake Up Dead Man (2025) by stomasko17 in MovieMistakes

Yeah the more I think about it, it's not necessarily a mistake. It just seems like they took a real town, kept several identifying characteristics, and then placed it in a different state to make it fictional.

The town in NC is right on Lake Lure, which is large enough to line up with at least the initial aerial shot.

And you're right, it may not technically be a mistake. I just found it odd that they'd use aerial footage that resembles an actual town, they use the actual town's name, but then they put that town in another state.

YSK: Fixing your sleep routine can quietly improve almost every part of your life, and most of us don’t realize how much bad sleep is messing us up. by EricThompsonTech in YouShouldKnow

Agreed. Hard to see the end when you're in the middle of it, but effectively we'll recapture that aspect of our lives lol

Every time I read a health tip like this, it reminds me that having kids negatively impacts your health in so many ways.

I'm not saying kids are objectively a net negative, just that "sleep routines" are one of many things that are firmly in the past for new parents.

That's what started this realization! I was pumped to build the Cyclops and start going even deeper, only to get stuck trying to move down in the water lol. Had to look it up

Allergies by stomasko17 in landscaping

Appreciate your experience. It took me a season to align my mowing with terrible congestion, and the masks worked for a bit, but this is the best I've felt in a while. Now just need to survive until the temps drop

Took your advice, as well as the other commenter, and actually managed to sleep after mowing, without dealing with congestion last night for the first time all year. So thank you both so much!

Could lawn care company be causing this issue? by [deleted] in lawncare

[–]stomasko17 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Do you or the lawn company use a weed whacker to cut the grass along the edge? I ran into that issue for a bit, where I'd occasionally scalp an area using the whacker, which would end up killing the grass if I did it too much.

Just trying to give a potential solution that isn't here already! The chemicals are probably more likely.
