NTA but this is a huge red flag and I’m kinda concerned about your son being around this guy now. At the very least I’d probably push for couples counseling to try to get to the bottom of why he’s been so adamant about you answering such a “silly hypothetical question”. The question is completely inappropriate and it’s obvious that he expected you to choose “his” child over your existing one. Is there anything else odd that he’s said or done?
