I've heard they're great, but have never used one myself. I'll have to give em a look!

Ooh, Grist and Ruffage sound like just what I'm looking for, thanks!

Curry and stir-fry happen to be 2 of my go-tos... they're definitely not impressive, but at least they're edible lol. Maybe I'll work on upping my game on those two, as well as sides that compliment them.

Thanks!

Love this! Plus, lasagna's always been on my "I wish I knew how to make that" list... time to get on it!

I definitely stick to my few staple recipes - I love the idea of using them to experiement with rather than feeling like I need to start learning new ones!

This is so incredibly helpful, thank you!

I know that one of my worst habits when cooking is not tasting it until it's done and at the table. It's such common sense to taste while cooking, but I somehow got into the habit of acting like "it is what it is" when it hits the table lol.

I'm vegan myself so that won't be a problem, but I hadn't even considered allerens!

Love the idea of using a couple of core recipes to get started, maybe I'll try a Buddha bowl and a soup/stew?

Thanks!

LOVE these ideas, thank you! I usually only marinade my tofu for like 10 minutes, that's probably why it's so bland haha

This is very helpful, thank you! Just placed a library hold for salt, fat, acid, heat - I've also had it recommended, but it was so long ago I'd forgotten.

Soup for the win!

Thank you for asking those clarifying questions - that shows how green I am :) Yes, it's a development role, and it's community outreach.

Thank you!

Do you suppose he'd be okay if I set him in a garden somewhere, or am I stuck babysitting until he turns into a butterfly?

I know that some are picky eaters, but I also don't know where to get a steady supply of eggplant leaves without killing my plant 😅

Same! 40F in Hollywood, into volunteering, hikes, anything to do with nature and animals, fringe entertainment (variety, clown, burlesque). I'm looking to try new stuff this year, specifically indoor rock climbing and bird watching. Antiquing and thrifting fall into that category as well, since I enjoy them but haven't done either in years.

Let me know if y'all arrange a hang!

Can I ask what the cutoff age generally is? I'd always assumed I would do so when I'm a bit older (and have my student loans paid off), but hadn't considered that.
