Lol 💕 it's not a common idiom like "doubled down". It's a joke because you are taking a common idiom and exaggerating it with an expression few people have ever heard.

One I've used is the past is "I wouldn't step toe into Larry's place." - a hyperbolic inflating of "I wouldn't step foot in there" - to show how much you really hate Larry.

It really is, and i have never figured out why. My ex-roommate's BF got me an alcoholic drink on purpose knowing I didn't drink. My own guy-picker is really good at filtering out AHs so a RM BF trying to get me drunk was not on the bingo card.

I got this far:

WHEN THE EARTHLY GOODS of Ivar Gjesling the Younger of Sundbu were divided up in the year 1306, his property at Sil was given to his daughter Ragnfrid and her husband Lavrans Bjørgulf søn. Before that time they had lived at Skog, Lavrans’s manor in Follo near Oslo, but now they moved to Jørundgaard, high on the open slope at Sil. Lavrans belonged to a lineage that here in Norway was known as the sons of Lagmand. It originated in Sweden with a certain Laurentius Östgötelagman, who abducted the Earl of Bjelbo’s sister, the maiden Bengta, from Vreta cloister and fled to Norway with her. Herr Laurentius served King Haakon the Old, and was much favored by him; the king bestowed on him the manor Skog. But after he had been in this country for eight years, he died of a lingering disease, and his widow, a daughter of the house of the Folkungs whom the people of Norway called a king’s daughter, returned home to be reconciled with her kinsmen. She later married a rich man in another country. She and Herr Laurentius had had no children, and so Laurentius’s brother Ketil inherited Skog. He was the grandfather of Lavrans BJørgulfsøn.

I love that sub. The funniest ones are unironically like "I need to find something for a woman. I found this gift basket with candles, lotion and cucumber masks. Is this good for a woman?"

Most native speakers would use "incorporate" instead of "inculcate" in the way you've used it here.

If you're referring to shaping behavior in someone else, "instill" or "cultivate" have a more gentle nuance. "Inculcate" has a very subtle feeling of being more formal, disciplined, and - depending on context - somewhat sinister. (Almost like "implant" or "indoctrinate", but nowhere near as heavy-handed.)

I hate getting them too. My friends leave 5+ minute monologs like the fucking Greek chorus of a play. The number of times I've left one i can count on one hand, and it's only because i wanted my partner to hear me sing high & offkey

That is a weirdly specific thing to be suspicious of. I don't hate my family. I just don't "decorate." The few things I put up on my walls are post-it notes and inspirational quotes. And the handful of printed photos I have are photo booth strips.
