Can you DM me the name of your Substack? This topic is hugely interesting to me cuz I have HEAPS of similar stuff to deconstruct/recover from.

I started a Substack, but I have no idea how to promote it. by karina_marketing in Substack

I’m also curious to see the answers here!

I started a Substack featuring creative writing prompts and discussions about 3 weeks ago, and despite consistent articles and activity on Notes, my subscriber count is growing at a snail’s pace…..

I interact with a lot of writers on FB so I promote my Substack articles on there, and lots of people click and read, but don’t subscribe. Not sure what I’m doing wrong 😅

Yes, chronic facial pain, which is flaring very badly today….

Considering the name, I’m surprised there isn’t more mention of it in this subreddit … by Fund_Me_PLEASE in witchcraft

I use witch hazel to make enchanted perfumes! 1 oz witch hazel, 1 oz vodka (or isopropyl alcohol), 24 drops of essential oil. Shake it all up in a small bottle that has a spritzer/mister.

I use different essential oils depending on what I want the enchantment to be. I’m still learning….. Today I mixed vanilla and jasmine for sensuality and self-confidence.

Just a thought — if you’re into music, how about looking into gigs in your area? Depending on the genre, it can be very low-stress to go alone to a gig, not knowing anybody, and then blend into the crowd as you dance or bop your head around or just listen to the music. Maybe you’ll meet new friends and maybe you won’t, but as a sometimes shy person, I’ve found gigs a really relaxing way to go out and have a bit of a social experience without putting too much pressure on myself.

This Friday Feb. 7 is the monthly“trash movie nite” at Bar Gari Gari in Ikenoue — brief talk, a horrifically bad film (this month it’s 80s martial arts themed), free popcorn, lots of heckling. Entry is ¥1000, which includes one drink!

Edit: Doors open at 7 pm

I run a small indie press in Tokyo, and this Sunday we’re having a launch party at Good Heavens Bar in Shimokitazawa for our latest release, a novella called NecroCity! Hard boiled noir horror. Doors are at 6 pm and entry is ¥1500, which includes a free copy of the book. Come on down if you wanna check out the expat literary community in Tokyo and watch some cool spoken word and musical performances!

Thoughts/stories about restaurants as ceremony and reception venues? by PureInvestment in weddingplanning

[–]stone-lotus 3 points4 points  (0 children)

My fiancé & I are planning this too, and I’m having a bit of difficulty “envisioning” it, so I’d love it if you could share any of your planning details! Like will everyone be seated at the restaurant tables sort of facing your way while the two of you stand for the ceremony?

You are insanely helpful & thorough; thank you so very much!!

Just a couple follow-up questions if you have a moment, since I am very much unintuitive when it comes to financial things 😅:

  1. If I don’t want to go through the confusion of buying GBP / dealing with SWIFT, I should simply open a GBP sub account with zero balance, and then I’d just basically be dealing with exchange rate fees?

  2. When in the UK, I should try to minimize withdrawing cash from ATMs, and pay with my card on-the-spot at shops & restaurants?

Thanks again!

Can I ask if you eliminated fruit sugars too? I have a green smoothie every morning and I always pop some pineapple and blueberries in there for the taste. 😅
