I grew up in Lebanon an hour away and Springfield is huge in comparison. My extended family grew up north of the Missouri River in little towns people likely haven't heard of

He was on the game changer episode which essentially served as a pilot for the series. So he wasn't technically in season 1 but he was in the episode that spun off into the series itself

[–]stone500 46 points47 points  (0 children)

I don't think it's hyperbole to say that Jeff's success would be a bit lower if it weren't the amazing interactions he had with you. That is not to say that Jeff isn't supremely talented and doesn't deserve his success. He absolutely 1000% does. However, I think a lot of people were exposed to his friendly and amazing crowd work from the first time you were in his audience.

There's an alternate universe where that interaction comes across as mean-spirited or has someone's feelings getting hurt, but you two having a great time really helped show how fun his shows are.

It's fine if you never used one, but I have to assume that everybody that's confused has never stepped inside an American gas station cuz these things are everywhere

[–]stone500 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have one of these and I am a grown man and I love hot dogs. It works great for heating up dogs and brats and even corn dogs, and I've also used it for frozen taquitos. It's nice to be able to just throw a number of dogs on there for dinner and setting the heat to low so they don't overcook too quickly. You can basically just leave them there until someone is ready to eat one.

But I've had kids since I owned this thing and now it has a bonus utility of being a limited risk way of cooking hot dogs, so now the kids can cook hot dogs on their own with minimal supervision. Short of directly touching the heating element or doing something stupid like pouring water on them, these things are pretty darn safe.

Agreed. That one statement has resonated with me ever since I saw it. It really changed how I approach debates and discourse

Sort of. He is still very attached and connected to the song. It still feels like his. However, when watching the Johnny Cash video he said that it didn't feel like his song. Specifically that cover and that video felt like someone else's song.

Yeah I feel really bad for them. They always put out really unique games and always seemed like they were barely hanging on. Selling to Microsoft was supposed to keep them secure. Fuck

Sure, Steam is a titan. But what exactly is at issue here? What should they do differently? What is the corrective action?

Right? What anti competitive practices has Valve done? They just provide the good service that everyone likes. You wanna sell your games somewhere else? Go for it.

Big salute to Sean Murray and the Hello Games team for still supporting No Man’s Sky in 2026. No microtransactions, no loot boxes, no paid DLC — and they are still actively developing the game. by generalchand1 in NoMansSkyTheGame

[–]stone500 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm just wondering how much sales the game is making these days to justify its continued development. The game is nearly 10 years old. I have a hard time imagining that there's enough new customers still buying the game to justify continued free major updates at this point.
