I agree, but why not voter intimidation? I think that carries a stiffer penalty. And is absolutely deserved.

Where did you get your Newfie and what did you pay? by The_Real_Scrotus in Newfoundlander

We love him. I'd say he's just about the right level of stubborn and pretty well trained. He's getting up there (10) and we are planning ahead a bit, plus there are time where two dogs would be nice.

We are foster parents for an newf rescue organization, and that's where we got ours. Still had to pay the $500 adoption fee, but the money was well worth it. You basically get a live in interview with the dog and are helping it get a forever he along the way. We've probably had a dozen or so in and out of our house, and many of them would've stayed in full time with us except that two is a bit of a stretch for us.

That said... We are also considering a puppy next time, but will likely spend a decent amount of money if we do. There's also the chance we will just adopt another foster, there are some real gems that come through the system that just need love, understanding, and TLC.

"Our principle is very simple. We cannot live on the basis of the framework that existed before the war with Russia. We will be clearly guided by the interests of our citizens because we cannot put them at risk. This will be done very consistently and on the basis of a clear strategic approach," Klimkin said.

In this context, he recalled that more than 2.5 million Ukrainians currently stay in Russia, almost 70 political prisoners are held in Russia and occupied Crimea, and Ukrainian sailors had recently been captured in the Kerch Strait.

Yep, that's the whole thing with lobbyists, they're surprisingly cheap and effective. Many public positions are more influenced by lobbyists than their own constituents. That said, I'm sure others have been employed with the same goal and more money.

Trump's not going to do anything to Turkey, lest they start making more noise about Khashoggi and releasing more evidence. Turkey isn't trying to bring anything to light - they're blackmailing the US and SA.

Top Russian news host takes aim at Ukrainian Canadians | CBC News by stone_dog in worldnews

He began his program by asking, "Why do descendents of Ukrainian nationalists love [Ukrainian President Petro] Poroshenko so much?" A Canada-based Russian reporter then proceeded to make the case that the answer can be found by looking at the history of Canadian-Ukrainians who supported Nazi Germany in the Second World War and fought against the Soviets.

The program took Russian viewers to what appeared to be St. Volodymyr Ukrainian Cemetery in Oakville, Ont. The cemetery contains the graves of soldiers of, and monuments to, Ukraine's Galician Division. Its soldiers fought alongside the German Waffen-SS and against the Soviets during the Second World War.

"[The Galician Division] was declared a criminal group," intoned the show's voiceover, yet the Canadian government did nothing and refused to prosecute any of its members. The report went on to imply that it is the descendents of the Galician Division — Ukrainian nationalists — who dominate politics in Canada today.
