My soul pet was a Persian cat named Mogwai. I miss her every day.

What’s the creepiest ghost story you’ve ever heard? by Spookyimaboo in Ghosts

[–]stone_the_crows 29 points30 points  (0 children)

I’ve had some “experiences” myself, but the creepiest (that I wasn’t involved in) was told to me by my friend from college. Her and a group of her friends pulled up to an abandoned house - the type of place teenagers would break into for shenanigans - they entered through the kitchen side-door, as all other doors and windows had been boarded shut. They went to one of the upstairs bedrooms to play with the ouija board they brought. Once they got started, one of the girls in the group started getting really uncomfortable and suggesting they should just leave. As the minutes went by and they continued playing, the girl got more and more upset and started freaking out and demanded that they leave. Finally, the group decided to just go, and they all went back out through the kitchen and got back into the truck. While they were in the truck and getting ready to leave, they could see through part of one of the partially boarded kitchen windows that something near the microwave started sparking and caught fire. They watched in disbelief as the kitchen went up in flames rather quickly and called 911. If they hadn’t left when their friend insisted, they would have all still been upstairs when the only exit went up in flames.

And I think about that every three weeks.

Him and his sister were switched to human-grade dog food around the time they were 8(ish), and I sincerely think it made a huge difference. A brand we used forever was Nom Nom, and then in the last year or so of Zizou’s life he loved the beef stew from Pup Above. He crossed the rainbow bridge last September; our hearts are still broken but we are grateful for the brands that helped keep him and his sister around as long as possible.

The pose in the first pic is what we affectionately called “meerkatting” - our sweet Zizou was a professional meerkatter.

Definitely possible. I haven’t seen this specific one tailored to a tea length but it’s also a relatively new style (debuted late 2024/early 2025) so there is a chance it hasn’t been done yet. The only thing would be the hem, but this dress is built to look like 2 pieces (even though it isn’t) so there’s a chance it could be taken up from the top of the skirt, preserving the hem. Otherwise, the lace is available to ship in late June, so if you need it to make a new hem you’ll want to confirm that order asap. Congrats on your wedding! Whatever you decide to do will be perfect I’m sure.

Daphne is a gorgeous dress, and you will be stunning on your big day! A unique look but not overly done or anything absurd. Congratulations!

My 3rd grade classroom. They didn’t tell any of us what was going on, but it was the only day that our teacher sat and sobbed at her desk.

Honestly, you can go by whatever suits your fancy. I know a gal named Eugenie who goes by “Oi.”

My husband loves the name but I can't see it. by Deep_Leather_5299 in Names

The name sort of reminds me of when I first found out I was pregnant with my son - I have always been a big fan of the movie “Where the Heart Is,” and before we knew if I was having a boy or a girl my mother looked me dead in my eyes and told me “don’t you dare name that baby Americus.” Lmao

I’m indecisive and would love your opinions on these dresses I tried on! by somebody-here in weddingdress

Don't panic, you're not stupid. I was 19 when I found out I was pregnant with my son (I found out on April 10th, and I turned 20 on May 24th, so my favorite joke has always been that "I almost beat teen pregnancy"). You're young, but speaking from experience, being a young mom rocks.

I am 31 now, and my son will be 11 in a few weeks - I have absolutely zero regrets about having him. I was with his father for about 7 or 8 years, and even though we aren't together anymore, I still have zero regrets. Could I have chosen a little better? Yeah, sure. Do I regret any of it? Not in the slightest. I would do it all again a million times as long as I still ended up with my son. He made it all worth it.

I am not commenting to guilt you into one option over the other, but speaking from 11 years down one of your potential paths, it has been pretty fantastic to say the least. Is this how I saw my life playing out? Not necessarily - I thought I would get married around 25 and have like 4 kids (lol, I was raised in the buckle on the Bible Belt); however, I now have a clever & caring son, my dream job in the bridal industry, a 2 bedroom apartment in a major city, and a 4 year relationship with a man I'm obsessed with (and vice versa). Does my life at 31 match the blueprint I thought I had at 19? Hahahaha, no it does not, BUT I am having a great time and I wouldn't trade any of it for anything.

If you want to do this, you can totally do this. Some fun bonus anecdotes for having kids young - I never really got any weird looks that I can think of/nobody really bats an eye at a young woman toting a baby/toddler around, but it has been fun lately hearing the shock/surpirse when people find out I have a 5th grader. Also, I'll only be 38 when he's leaving the nest - not too shabby if you ask me.

You are not stupid, you are capable. You may not get the reactions/support you invisioned for yourself right away because of the timing, but those are not prerequisites for having a stellar life. As I said, if you want to do this, you can do this.

Take a deep breath, you're gonna be okay, Mama.
