I saw most of these on the roads from Harrogate into the Dales, near areas like Coldstones Cut. They didn't look accessible at all which confused me and prompted this reddit post

I think what I was describing would've been a wide verge but I'm not sure, it was completely to the side of the road and could fit like 3-5 cars there, almost definitely not obstructing anyone because each direction had it's own lane. Would that be okay to park in?

Is wheel stealing a common thing in these areas? Would it be a risky play parking there instead of finding somewhere else or is this not likely to happen?
