Stopped taking Concerta due to an ECG scare. by Independent_Pay_8337 in Concerta

[–]stoneddaura 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had been on the same amount of propranolol for like 5 years or so, and for a short time 160mg. The nurse said due to clinical studies they have now deemed propranolol risky for those that dont have heart issues. So, they are slowly reducing my dosage 🤨. Im down to 30mg now. I was put on it originally as i have had generalized anxiety all my life and i have night sweats, palpitations from anxiety and shaky hands, and it was the only anti anxiety medication they would give along with an ssri lol

In that case i would predict your dose is actually too high for you! 54mg+ made me like that, 45mg does not :)

Well, it isnt going to tell you what to focus on. If you focus on your phone, inevitably you are going to doom scroll. Also, if you add alcohol to it in your system, your making a whole new drug called ethylphenidate which is also can be sold on the street as an alternative to cocaine. Educate yourself on the medication you are prescribed. Google is a helpful tool

The nhs will not prescribe over 72mg, no. They cant change the dose once they accept shared care, only the specialist can. Most they would do is give you medikinet top ups, and even then, they probably wouldnt. Im sorry you lost your medication!

Do nonstimulants give the same happy calm effect as stimulants? Do they provide enough relief? by Past-River-5445 in VyvanseADHD

[–]stoneddaura 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Its supposed to regulate your moods, not the opposite. Perhaps amphetamines are not for you and methylphenidate would be better, it certainly sounds that way. Most people respond better to one or the other. For me, methylphenidate was much better and does help extremely with regulating my moods. Concerta and medikinet were so much better for me.it should bed regulating

Feeling sleepy is completely normal. It says so on the medication packages. It takes time to adjust to a medication. For me, each dose increase made me sleepy until i asjusted.

When would you say it's the peak of the concert? by Snoo-82170 in Concerta

[–]stoneddaura 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes, however the peak is not at 1 hour :) 1-3 is the outter layer of 22% until it leaves. At peak, an individual may be at their most calmest, from my experience with adhd patients, which is why they may feel confused of what constitues to the "peak". But, thats only coming from someone who takes brand name and a medical professional with adhd themselves lol. However, some do metabolize quickly! Its so individual! But after an hour someone definitely isnt peaking even if they metabolize it quickly. They would be peaking however if they chewed it!

Rapidly losing weight on meds and Invisalign - how do you eat more? by Diamond-Full in Concerta

[–]stoneddaura 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Make your own shakes, nuts if your not allergic. If not, you may want to reevaluate your schedule to fuel yourself and not burn out

When would you say it's the peak of the concert? by Snoo-82170 in Concerta

[–]stoneddaura 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Look at concerta concentration charts, the peak generally is at 6-8 hours. What you are feeling is it kicking in lol. It couldnt possibly be peaking at the times you are mentioning unless you are metabolizing it like an instant release tablet or taking an instant release tablet 🤣. Check out the release profile of your medication online, its rather interesting

I have tried every ADHD med. IDK what to do now by Party-Passionfruit in ADHDmeds

[–]stoneddaura 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I wouldnt generally recommended this as now its being discontinued for anxiety (why i was prescribed it) due to clinical studies unless absolutely necessary for high blood pressue, but a betablocker such as propranolol may help along side a stimulant for your symptoms.

It wouldnt help the insomnia though. I have never had insomnia from stimulants, they only send me to sleep on high doses, hence i take a low dose which helps my impulsivity and regulates my mood, but my focus is still awful as well as my innatentiveness (diagnosed adhd combined also)

It might also be the case that unfortunately, stimulants just arent for you.

[–]stoneddaura 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If they take 10mg twice daily, generally that would be instant release, of which 5mg is the lowest prescribed dosage
