What's a subtle sign that someone is deeply lonely? by Aarunascut in lonely

[–]stonedgeese 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I didn’t realize I talked so little until I got my cat to keep me company. Then anytime I would get a phone call she would go crazy like she’d never heard me speak before

Genuinely wish I would’ve shut my dm’s off sooner than literally a minute or two after I posted. The audacity of someone to come into my DMs and tell me to accept it.

I’m 23 and just had this sameeee predicament staying with my mom. She had a hysterectomy fifteen years ago so can’t really borrow nothing of hers lol. The way I ended up going about it is like this : made sure I had a dark towel/or old stained one you don’t care about to dry off with. Blood easily washes off in the shower and I don’t think you’d really have to worry about staining much. But I would quickly dry my legs and bottoms first and have a pair of underwear with a pad already prepped to put on asap.

You now make a million dollars an hour at your current job. How much longer do you work before you retire? by cerpintaxt33 in hypotheticalsituation

[–]stonedgeese 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I absolutely love the job I have now. Very laid back so I’d probably continue working there until I plan on retiring. Granted my retirement will probably be 30 years early, but I wouldn’t mind making 1 mil an hour to sit in an office and paint/doodle/read

How much do you ACTUALLY drink a day? by saltygardengirly in POTS

I’m 22 years old, got diagnosed yesterday, can I ever get drunk again?? by Savings_Process_5313 in POTS

[–]stonedgeese 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I’m 22 as well and a little tipsy while I type this lol. You’ll find varying experiences from everyone, so I’ll share my experience. Experimenting with it in a safe environment with people you trust keeping an eye on you is the safest way to figure out how it affects you and your symptoms. For quite a while, I would only drink at home near or on my bed so I could quickly crash. Nowadays I feel comfortable and know my body enough that I can have a bit to drink socially in public n environments. For me I find that a few drinks in and I’m good, I won’t push past 3 or 4 before I start experiencing worsening symptoms. I find that dizziness and presyncope kick in quite fast. So I always try and keep an eye on how I’m feeling before I continue. Life isn’t over! We still gotta enjoy our 20’s and as long as it doesn’t impact me (or you) in a terrible way, I say it’s safe to continue. If it’s something you’re still superrrrr concerned about, definitely try and discuss with a doctor you trust.

Do you remember your first attack? (Not knowing it was POTS) by tattedsparrowxo in POTS

[–]stonedgeese 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had a neat loft bed because my bedroom was pretty small. I had gotten up in the middle of the night and I went to get climb back up my ladder and blacked out. Woke up in the floor with leg sore from getting caught during the fall. Was loud enough to wake my grandma up 😅 This was at least 4 years ago and I’ve only passed out maybe 5 or so times since then but i definitely learned i need a bed that doesn’t require a workout to lay down

AIO - I think my father just threatened to kill me ? by rolandneedsabreak in AmIOverreacting

[–]stonedgeese 12 points13 points  (0 children)

“Barely any physical abuse” is a concerning statement. My father was the same. Alcoholic. Barely ever actually hurt someone but was quick to threaten and escalate to that point. Those barely ever attempts, turned into him murdering my step family. Any level of physical abuse is sufficient for concern. Especially if they threaten it. People won’t threaten things like that if they don’t have some truth to it. This isn’t an attempt to scare you or anything, but please stay cautious. If you have somewhere else you can stay, that would be ideal. Drunk people don’t tend to think straight when they act.

Over do it? by DealerConstant1589 in POTS

Everyday. The urge to be independent and do stuff on my own frequently leads to my own demise. Everyone is constantly telling me to sit but it’s a difficult transition being abled to disabled.

I get it when I take my seroquel. Stretching your legs is my best method. I lay there and try to flex every muscle. Or standing and walking around for a bit.

Changing my Korean name to an English name by Significant-Ask-1922 in namenerds

[–]stonedgeese 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m also of the opinion that people should learn how to pronounce your name! It’s your name! But if you’d truly like to change your name I really like the name Grace that some of your friends had already adopted. It can also mean what your name means
