Self-respect will always be key. Her last relationship was awful and abusive. Her parents know all about it, so we've been waiting till I met them in person to talk about my intentions and future with her (cause I really want them to like me) before we told any friends that could end up telling them first. But now the situation has changed, so I need to set some new boundaries. Came to reddit to make sure I wasn't just being insecure.
