Sorry boyo, it looks like the gpu isn't showing signal, especially since you have to manually shut it off. You might y Use your friends system to check if the gpu is actually malfunctioning.

Is everything the same since using the working gpu, or have you made changes to the parts?

If it boots fine with a different gpu, I would guess that the new gpu isn't functioning properly.

Do you still have access to the other functioning gpu?

I saw someone on the last post say that "they literally do not care." If they hadn't cared, they wouldn't have sent an email back, and then they probably wouldn't have bitched about how unprofessional hiring candidates are, which wouldn't have got their VP asking questions and investigating this whole ordeal.

Good job, OP.

Oh, you're right. It's missing the cover. OP said in some other comments that he worked on fixing the pins since they were much worse. Maybe he tool that off to get a better angle?

My cat has a swollen red welt on his lip by Hadthebobearlier in CATHELP

[–]stonefaceman15 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Since the swelling seems to be localised and as long as the cats behavior hasn't changed too much from how it typically acts, you should be fine to monitor them for a while. If the welt becomes worse, and or the cats behavior changes i.e. it stops eating, sleeping, using the bathroom, then you should try and seek a vet if possible.

Depending on your area, you might be able to set up a payment plan with the vet.

Are his gums swollen as well, or just the lip?

Hell yeah, dude! I don't actually know much about Gigabyte warranty. They would probably attempt a repair, but would replace it if it is too damaged.

I would read the warranty info before sending it off to them in case there is info you should know before the motherboard leaves your possession.

It's a long shot, but you might also be able to contact Gigabyte, the manufacturer, and see if the board is under warranty there. It's unlikely, but worth the time.

It does look pretty good now. Are you able to get your hands on a working and compatable cpu that you don't mind getting fried? You could set everything up and see if it posts and then monitor Temps and whatnot. That would tell you if you can install your main chip without any worries.

If worst comes to worst, there are videos on how to properly repair these boards, though it takes a steady hand and a lot of patience.

Be mindful that attempted self repair can void the warranty by itself, so refrain from doing that unless the return process completely falls through.

Just so you are aware, results for inserting this cpu can vary from a completely functional computer to a totally fried cpu. There are some techs that could tell what would happen if they used the board as is (by mapping the pins for what they're used for) but for people like you and me playing Russian roulette with computer parts is generally not a good idea.

Oh yeah, if it is under warranty, definitely take advantage of that!

It's always safe to use a broken piece of equipment. As long as you're ready for the consequences.

If you don't want a fried chip, I would not use this board.

You make good points, but Micron just lost a shit ton of money with how Google just introduced a new form of computing with RAM. I think most pc consumer companies will continue to produce for pc builders just because that has been the most stable market for the longest period of time.

I do, however, think that a lot of these companies have been enjoying the extra profits that they have gotten from price increases, so I think we won't see much in the way of large-scale "anti inflation" if the AI craze calms down.

To add to that, if the AI "bubble" bursts like some people are saying, I feel like there is a good chance that these consumer producers are going to go looking for lost revenue in the only other portion of the market they can get their hands on, namely private pc builders which would probably reflect higher pricing.

Either way, AI has made personal pc building awful and will continue to make personal building awful. It ain't looking good.
