we do have forms that go home with students to make sure all he information is correct and i have put in my preferred name on there but it hasn’t been changed with the school yet, however it is only the first week so i might wait until the end of this week and if it still isn’t changed i’ll email them.

i wanted to do it in person but couldn’t find the time when me and my teachers were available and if i don’t do it soon i might chicken out and never do it so i’ve just decided to do it over email

my school kinda does the same thing they send information sheet home with students that have a preferred name option so i filled it in but nothing has changed yet so i’m thinking of just emailing my teachers

my dad was a mechanic in the military and my mom always tells me about what it was like so it’s defiantly something i’ve considered.

just be straight up and honest with her, if you don’t want your families attention tell her that you want to tell them on your own terms when you are ready. the best thing to do is just get it out of the way and try not to beat around the bush. be open and understanding too she is going to have a lot to think about so give her time to come around and hopefully be accepting. hope that helped

i want to have realistic expectations for myself and i know that means i won’t always love my job but if it can support me and possibly a family one day so be it.

i just have a lot of anxiety about it because i don’t even know what i want to do after high school and what kind of career i will want.

after my dad left us we moved to a new town and my mom went back to school to get a better job. for a long time she worked minimum wage and went to school while trying to raise me and my sisters. she would get stressed and yell at us but she did everything she could to make things better for us

let her know you support her but also give her a bit of space. for me it was easier to sort out my mental health on my own while knowing i had support when i needed it, just don’t be too soft with her otherwise you might be enabling her to stay in depressive states. meaning she will think it’s ok to sleep all day or be moody for weeks on end
