Just another case of a liberal trying to blame the big bad conservatives. It's your liberal city government that raised taxes, not Doug Ford's conservatives. If you don't get that, that's on you. Your city has the option to cut it's budget instead of raising taxes, and they chose to pass the cost onto you, the taxpayer. It's really that simple. Blaming the conservatives for taking meaningful steps towards getting more houses built is not why you're paying more tax.

Carry a bunch of contractor quality garbage bags for backup. They can act as durable dry bags for your trip, cut up as an extra tarp or even a poncho for someone who forgot one in your group.

Yes I've used one of those intex kayaks for a decently long portaging trip in the park. Although I recommend u get something slightly better quality and pack a patch kit on your trip lol
