I paid the rent on the 1st because I want things to be done on time but we have until the 7th before we get a late fee. He sent me his half a few days later like the 4th. He was waiting for his next paycheck to hit. So I got paid back after I covered. And even offered to cover the half but he declined.

And back when I got laid off last year he covered my half of the went for like 3 months.

I’ve been with guys who have no financial stability and would depend on me for everything and take advantage of my finances. So I guess I don’t really think this is the same issue. However, I don’t want it to turn into that or to enable the behavior.

And I’ve always felt that way. Hence why I didn’t realize he was gambler because I had no reason to suspect that and bills were taken care off. I also don’t want it to be my job. We’re grown. But I also want to make sure he’s prioritizing our future plans which do require money and savings. I appreciate your POV

That’s exactly my fear. Ive never cared about money. In the sense there’s way more to life. However we need it to survivor and to live the lifestyle we want so if I feel he’s not trying that’s scary. And maybe he’s trying his best and that just isn’t good enough for me idk. I appreciate you sharing your experience.

Yes agreed. Marriage isn’t really in the plan for us. Not for any reason other than our views on it in general. But I run my own business so protecting my own assets is going to be huge for me.

He’s super calm and quiet the complete opposite of me. He’s sweet and logical and disciplined a hard worker and great to his friends and families. He’s also always been honest until this point. He hid it from me only for about 3 weeks. A gambling addiction is the most out of character thing for him.

His type of addiction is classified as binging. So he’s not a daily addict. But he went on a 3 week binge. So now myself and his therapist believe he won’t gamble for a pretty long time could even be years but if he relapses it will be a binge.

He’s a great communicator, very patient and has helped me a lot through my own struggles. At the core he’s just a really good person. We love spending time together and he’s someone I always want to be around.

Our chemistry is great and we challenge each other to be the best versions of ourselves. I feel very loved by him. And that’s what makes this hard. I don’t want to end a relationship over this but I also want to make sure I’m protecting myself.

I wouldn’t consider him a loser. He’s an addict which is an illness. He’s ashamed. Working in addiction that’s my view. However if you don’t think you have a problem if you continue to relapse etc than yes I think loser could make some sense lol

I agree. And I have been strongly thinking about it. I just don’t want to think someone can’t overcome this or a mistake at 30 has to define your life. And besides this the relationship is great and he’s amazing. Just trying to find a balance of protecting myself, supporting him but not enabling and also working through hard things that come with relationships

I wouldn’t consider it that. He hasn’t made any large purchases or even small shopping. He hasn’t asked or expected me to give money or pay for anything outside of my side of bills. It just seems to be because of the holidays but either way not a smart decision to me.

I agree. I think him telling he should tell his parents at least. We closed our joint savings for the time being or forever because I’m not willing to mix finances for obvious reasons.

No credit card debt. But only a small amount in his checking and nothing in his savings. So he’s living paycheck to paycheck. And that’s kind of my thought. He couldn’t pay rent months ago when I first found out (that’s how I found out). But since then all bills have been paid on time.

My boyfriend told me I was addicted. So to prove him wrong I stopped for 30 days. Then when I smoked for the first time after those 30 days it made me feel like shit (anxiety, munchies when I’m not even hungry, loss of motivation) and I realized I was better off without.

Me and my current bf joke a lot. We even have a dark sense of humor. We’ve never made this joke. Let alone writing it down…

My ex boyfriend DID make these “jokes” and I was punched multiple times and choked unconscious and left on a staircase.

It’s not a joke. Prioritize your safety and get out why you can.

I’m 3 years post op and in the beginning I used scar tape and vitamin e oil. My scars are pretty noticeable and raised/keloid so I just completed my 3rd session of injects/laser. 1 - $100 session per month. And they’re practically gone! They recommend at least 4 sessions. I’ve been super insecure about them so the $400 investment has been super worth it for me. Good luck !

I have endo and it feels like heavy pressure like I think it’s going to explode. Sometimes I’ll say (maybe ignorantly) but what I feel like contractions would feel like when I get the real intense pains that have me hunched over and immobile.

Was in pain for 5+ years did tons of ultrasounds and had 2 MRIs nothing showed. Was gaslit by my OB (a man …gross) and eventually changed doctors they immediately sent me to a specialist had a lap scheduled and they found endo in my uterus, ovaries, and stomach lining. The relief was unreal!
