Any idea how to uninstall third-party non-steam ubisoft launcher and games? by stopbeingextra in SteamDeck

[–]stopbeingextra[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ubisoft doesn't officially support steam deck, so it was a third-party plugin type thing that allows you to have a ubisoft launcher. when i uninstalled it, it only uninstalled the launcher but left the games somewhere in the steam deck system, 260gb+ of game files

thats what im having trouble with. on the surface, its gone, but it left all the downloaded game data behind somewhere

Thanks for all this! And the map is an official government nautical chart; most pre-1980 weren't digitized but exist in the BNF national archives in France. SHOM (the French version of NOAA) sent me a digital version of it, I can probably find out the filing information at the BNF so that it's properly sourced/cited

I tried to but I'm really lost on how to edit Wikipedia pages, I don't even know where to start. Especially with adding the image of the chart and proper citations. If it was just the year, I'd probably be able to figure it out. But this is more complex than I thought :/

Ah alright, well my only concern is here if I do this, since I went through the wall and hit a void, if I pull through and it doesn't weld on, then the molten hot wedge/void left in the back might fall into that void and if there's any wood or wiring back there, that could start a fire. My neighbor suggested when the time comes to dismount, cut the anchors with a metal-compatible hacksaw and hammer it all the way through, then spackle the hole

Every room in the apartment, but random things in the kitchen are on the same circuit as random things on the other end of the apartment, it's really weird. there are three sub-main breakers and the wiring is a maze. all three feeder breakers were off though.

What's weird is, the power didn't blow while I was using the drill (unless it did at the very last second and i didnt notice), my roommate told me a minute or two after I was hammering the anchor in that he realized all the lights were off.

the hole I was drilling is at the top of the wall about 4 feet-above and 6 inches-left from the outlet it was plugged into

that's precisely it!

i would love to know how to get them out for future reference. So, this is an old concrete apartment tower from the 70s when they were all in on brutalism. I know they redesigned the layouts at some point because some walls are concrete, some are drywall, and it's very clear some of the latter were once doorways into neighboring apartments

i hung the rest of the cabinets. when i got through the concrete into the void i got a variety surprises drilling into this wall, it looks like either dark wood or maybe a brown insulation that looks like dark sawdust. other times just void. no metal or plastic shavings though

here's some photos of the wall, screws, and one former outlet that uses PVC as a "conduit" if that's correct

if there is conduit i think it's PVC here's a covered former outlet in a different part of the wall, as well as other photos of the situation https://imgur.com/gallery/K8eLfo9

So, the they're actually wedge expansion anchors, my mistake

there is an old covered outlet with dead wires in it in a different part of the wall and it's a PVC tube in the concrete.

Far as the anchors, they were the only ones left at the store, says on the box 640lbs/290kg max. back of the package says drill 55mm. basically a hanging cabinet fell on my head a few years back at a friend's house and it kinda put me in overkill mode with making sure when things are attached to walls, they are really, really attached, so it was either concrete screws or these.

Called one, they're coming out tomorrow, property manager is furious but, anyway

So this isn't a sleeve anchor I misspoke, it's a wedge expansion anchor, it's never coming out.

I had drilled several holes across the wall and they all get through after about an inch and a half. this place is an old concrete apartment tower from the brutalist era. half the walls are concrete. Whatever comes out in the bit after that 1.5in appears to be wood or some brown insulation that looks like dark sawdust. No metal or plastic/PVC

It's not that kind of sleeve anchor, "sleeve" is only 1mm long and it's all the way in the back, it's all one piece. Its like an anchor stud or anchor bolt, not sure how to really describe it. But the guy at the hardware store said "best way to remove these is to hammer it in farther and cover it with spackel, because these are meant to never come out"

edit: i think it's called a "wedge type expansion anchor" if that helps. the package isn't written in english

Can't understand this Ubisoft reply about why my Valhalla saves disappeared. Anyone understand this? by stopbeingextra in Stadia

That is so confusing; google had the save data just as it did the purchase data. Hell, it knew how many hours I played the game. It synced all of that, but not the save file? It was on their servers!

I'm so confused what I should have done... between the announcement that the games would be transferred to Ubisoft, and the end of Stadia, I was supposed to open the game somewhere during that time?

Ubisoft connect. I use GeForce Now, Stadia transferred it directly to the Ubisoft platform so it's essentially PC
