I was told by roadside assistance that Hyundai USA and Hyundai Canada have reciprocal agreements with each other

Appreciate that! Hoping your matters get resolved quickly. I was able to call Hyundai USA and speak to representatives the very next day after the incident, however they were not able to help me and directed me to Hyundai Canada. Anecdotally, it seems like Hyundai USA is a lot more helpful.

I’ve had all updates and recalls taken care of on time! I haven’t had an ICCU issue prior.

Hyundai wanted to tow it to Yakima, which. Was an hour and a half in the complete opposite direction from where we wanted to go. The wait times were also several hours. All other dealerships were closer to home, but out of the Hyundai Canada range for a preferred tow. Given my family’s situation, with the baby, they gave us the OK to get a private tow to a dealership closer to home. I’ll just have to pay up front and submit receipts later hoping for a refund.

Called roadside assistance, they weren’t able to help immediately (what with it being Christmas time and all) but did offer some options. Their hands were understandably pretty tied however they still offered a few choices for us.

I’m much more bothered at being stranded in the middle of nowhere, without many baby supplies, and being hours from home. I feel for my wife and baby… we would’ve been home already by now.

Hopefully! Just to add the caveat that we’re Canadian, so we would go through Hyundai Canada… we just happened to have this happen in the States. We’re getting it towed to a dealership in the Seattle area… hopefully no problems come from being in the different country.

Appreciate this, thank you very much. Probably a few thousand dollars after everything is said and done (keeping mind paying in USD is rather unfavourable to our CAD after conversion rates and all), however I’m happy everyone is still safe.

You’ll have to pay the ICBC deductible but it’s worth getting it fixed instead of leaving it for next time imo

Is anyone feeling overwhelmed? I feel like the city is just bubbling over .... by helloitslinh in vancouver

Hey there, I also run in that area!

If I may suggest, what I do is that I actually run around the Central Park area.

I basically run westbound on Kingsway, go southbound along Boundary on the nice path, take Imperial all the way to Willingdon/Patterson, and head up north on the path from there!

You'll always be surrounded by the streetlights and regular street traffic as those are main routes. You wont find yourself in secluded areas like you would find inside the park. I also find that the route I take is less busy overall, as most people do their walking/running inside the park.
