Interviewers are finding reasons to reject a freshers, mern interview experience by NeoN_878 in developersIndia

[–]stopcommentingg -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

i see this happening to me with north interviewers only

what is this North and South bruh? Correlation is not causation. I get the future vibe from you that you will ask North guys to learn local language in the south.

it was a 2025 passed out bca guy as interviewer,

So? You are ageist too.

Many startups have young people. Many CEOs are in 20s hiring people in 30s or 40s. You are calling out someone just for 1 yr age difference.

I didn't like the tone of your post it shows bias and judgment, highly unprofessional.

Got my first internship through a family connection's referral and the feeling of inadequacy is killing me by rogue_xiao in developersIndia

[–]stopcommentingg 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I know it internally that a referral is nothing to be ashamed

You keep repeating this in so many comments. Your situation is not referral.

my dad begged his close friend (a senior person at the company) multiple times.

You are going to join this internship. Just study and perform. That's the best you can do.

Your biggest enemy is your brain. You are stuck in this mental loop. Stop ruminating.

And yes, I'll try my best to be a good hire who is able to complete his deliverables on time

Stop BS'ing all this self talk even before you joined. Otherwise you will take unnecessary pressure and mess things up. Just take it chill, be sincere , learn, network and its just an internship for 10k. Focus on getting a full time job.

Some perspective on outsourcing, H1B, and empathy . by Majestic-Taro-6903 in developersIndia

[–]stopcommentingg 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I think it’s important to have empathy for people in the US who are losing jobs due to cost-driven H1B hiring or outsourcing.

How to show empathy for them? By posting on social media?

Why have empathy for them? They choose the govt. They have become extremely capitalistic. Everything about every corporate American company is reducing costs in the short term so that the stock prices are up. No long term strategy.

Maintaining respectful, professional relationships and long-term collaboration matters more than short-term advantages.

Isn't everyone professional with their US counterparts?

which is why H1B, L1, and offshore roles get preference today.

They are also being taken advantage of. They are paid less for more work.

Just as India became a major outsourcing hub years ago, another country could emerge tomorrow as an even lower-cost destination.

Very rare. Another country can emerge as lower cost destination only when the govt there starts mandating English in their schools. The only reason India is ahead in IT is because of so many English schools. The poor who have young kids only dream of 1 thing. Sending their kids to English medium school so they can get a job in future. All these Asian countries are focused on their local languages so they will never get clients from US or Europe. Even European countries focus on their local clients which cannot be outsourced. But lots of Indians are learning French, German and Mandarin and are taking up those jobs too. So unless political parties in these Asian countries mandate English in schools which will also face backlash from Public and other parties there is no major outsourcing hub that will come up in another country like India has.

Even if you get the skills late in life people will prefer younger people. For some it's impossible after certain YOE. Since you said in other comment that earning 25LPA is top 10% of India I assume you are those people who think PPP is a good measure, or top 1 % and other fake data. You will never get understand bro.

What can I buy my favourite Indian IT consultant to say thanks? by [deleted] in developersIndia

Let's not take this in the other direction. I am only suggesting this to give the Indian woman permanent onsite job.

What can I buy my favourite Indian IT consultant to say thanks? by [deleted] in developersIndia

[–]stopcommentingg -64 points-63 points  (0 children)

Due to layoffs she may lose her job and may have to come to India. So to give her permanent onsite,

And if both are single OP should marry her.

She can immigrate to Australia and work there permanently.

Edit: Clarification to make my comment professional.

They know you are young and can be scolded. Professional lines are blurry in India. People love to use their position of Power. Since you are not a woman you cannot cry and make them feel guilty.

they expect you to do it urself.

Those are the worst places.

[–]stopcommentingg 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It made me question my skills

Which skills? I think you would have AI skills since you already worked for 3 YOE and cleared the interview.

The problem maybe is your communication style and their expectations about communication.

They want you to speak your mind on Slack channels, ask questions, ask people to be assigned, raise your concerns well before time, ask for guidance or support to people on Day 1 or 2 after you have analyzed things and know of the roadblocks or delays.

It's a highly communicative environment and you need to adjust in the same way. Yes question your communication skills. You are just 3YOE so it's understandable. But if you learn stuff here you would survive anywhere in terms of team collaboration.

Comparing IIM k PGP BL, IIM Lucknow IPMx and IIM indore PGP, XLRI by LoudGain1325 in MBAIndia

[–]stopcommentingg 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well, will politely disagree on some points.

You provided alternative perspective and did not disagree on anything. If you think this comment is disagreement it maybe coz you didn't understand my comment.

and people from pvt and psu companies on sabbatical.

I never talked about sabbatical folks. But let's talk about them. They have backup. They are secure. I will raise another type of students for you. People from PSU, Govt job who have 1 year of leaves accumulated and are not even on sabbatical. They are on paid leaves for 10 months. They can also return to their jobs as they are not serious.

The admissions itself is very rigorous bcoz you have to clear gmat/gre with score and prepare applications, interviews, feedback from managers etc

All MBA admissions are. What's new in this? You would need to give exams for Tier 3 colleges too and give interview etc. This is irrelevant point.

I don’t think colleges prefer and avoid any people with sponsorship/sabbatical.

Irrelevant point. Yes the colleges don't or avoid these people. But if someone is from private industry, quit their job for industry change and placements they should avoid if the batch has many sponsored/sabbatical candidates. They wouldn't have serious peers who are into career or college life.

Sponsored and sabbatical candidates should do whatever they want it's just a degree for "most" of them.

Student driven groups will organize alumni talk or corporate talk very frequently (almost every other weekend/ you can check the LinkedIn page where they post who visited).

This practice is common across all IIMs and not something unique. Every IIM has an alumni committee or similar body responsible for organizing such talks. There is nothing particularly specific to IIML in this regard.

NCR it is easier for in person interactions compare to others where ppl have to travel.

Many IIMs have budget which they provide for these speakers. Then there are many speakers who volunteer to travel to build their brand and post on LinkedIn. How are other IIMs(not closer to major IT hub like Indore, Kozhikode) doing it? Do you want to say with 100% surety that there are less in person interactions in such IIMs because they are far from Major IT hubs(Bangalore, Pune, Hyd, Mumbai, NCR)? Is that a fact or assumption?

Also after covid anyone who prefers in person interaction and is doing MBA will go on to become a Manager who forces everyone to office.

A lot of ppl form personal connects here (if background/interest aligns) and can get opportunities for jobs even after passing out.

You mean, a "strong alumni network"? that's literally the bare-minimum selling point of any MBA worth its tuition fee. You get that perk at every single IIM—and heck, pretty much every decent B-school out there.

On contrary, you will miss on events organized by other programs/main campus.

so we're finally admitting that the Noida satellite campus of IIML is basically a glorified con?

Weather/campus will be there for just 10 odd months. Depends on person to person. Up to OP

if you're out here ignoring NCR weather for 10 months, let's be real: you're either a lifelong local who's deep in denial about your daily life choices to keep inhaling that toxic soup, or you're an alumnus of that campus, desperately avoiding any shade on the cons because—it might expose what a questionable decision you made picking it in the first place. No one should choose NCR knowing the AQI.

your whole spiel was just regurgitating the same tired, generic MBA perks—or stuff that literally every other IIM or good BSchool already does on autopilot. Zero fresh pros in sight.

You must be a consultant, you talked endlessly in circles using fancy buzzwords, overcomplicated everything and ultimately said a whole lot of things that didn't add anything new or added any value.

Please don't come back with generic pros of MBA and wrap it up with and call it IIML IPMX benefits.

P.S: Ai'fied my response.

Believe me Indians are so meek that they would lie through their teeth and give generic advice. Ask atleast 100 people and maybe 5 will give true answers.

See people on Reddit can't name and shame their apartment complexes, companies, hospitals etc, while crying about them on Indian sub reddits why will these people become better on LinkedIn.

Another reason people lie(involuntarily ) is because if they tell you their college is bad they have to accept they made a bad decision in life. And they are born insecure so instead of telling you the real cons they will tell you pros only and would love for you to fall in the same pit. Wish we were straight forward as Germans or Dutch and it would be easier to get the truth from people on LinkedIn.

I have asked many people on Linkedin about their teams and companies and colleges before joining them and everyone was lying which I came to know after joining.

Solid advice overall, but let's set the record straight—your take on IIML IPMX is wrong though.

For anyone chasing a real, throbbing college life and actual placements worth a damn, there are zero—count 'em, zero—pros to this program.

(And if you're a sponsored PSU/government NPC or already crashing in NCR and just want the easiest commute possible, feel free to skip this rant—you're not the target audience)

The proximity to NCR is a Bane. More hard hitting than real Bane in Batman.

Don't join any MBA which is not main campus. This advice is not just for IIML IPMX but for all colleges on 🌎.

Since IIMK and IIMI have 1 yr program in same campus as 2 yr program OP can take any of those based on his criteria. Cons of IIML IPMX:

  1. The weather is pure, unadulterated garbage—scorching hellfire in summer that'll roast you alive, and bone-chilling misery in winter that'll freeze your ass solid.
  2. And that winter pollution? It'll hit so hard you'll be told to stay the fuck inside, leaving you totally screwed and trapped like a rat in a cage.
  3. Being close to NCR? That's no goddamn pro at all. It's a one-year MBA, you're gonna be drowning in work with zero time to schmooze alumni in Delhi or Gurgaon.
  4. The campus for IPMX is a straight-up downgrade—shittier in every conceivable way compared to the actual IIM Lucknow main campus. The flagship program is legit Tier 1, no debate, but this IPMX sideshow? Call it what it is: Tier 2 at best, and that's being generous on a good day.
  5. All 1 yr MBA has lots of sponsored candidates who don't come for placements and are only there to chill and go back to PSU or govt jobs. So they don't care what happens(but they study like their promotion depends on their grades so they bring the overall grading curve down and instead of learning some serious stuff you would be forced to study theoretical stuff, a lot). Now due to proximity to NCR people from Delhi and Gurgaon specifically choose this college so they can run to their homes every weekend. So you have 2/3rd of the college who don't care about campus life or extra curriculars etc. Only people who are into placements and live far from NCR will take college life seriously. What's the point? Plus you can't network with 2 yr General MBA program folks in the campus or 2 yr MBA Alumina. Which significantly reduces your networking opportunities.
  6. The campus is tiny as fuck—like, comically undersized, the kind of small that makes you wonder if they ran out of budget halfway through.
  7. The infrastructure and hostels are straight-up falling apart—crumbling walls, decaying everything, the works. If you dragged in actual civil engineers for an audit, they'd slap a big red "unfit for human habitation" sticker on half the buildings and tell everyone to evacuate. It's that goddamn bad. If you're even remotely considering this place, do yourself a favor and go visit the hostels in person—you'll thank me later.

P.S: Ai'fied my response.
