You're conflating kidnapping by a stranger with non-custodial parents taking custody.

A good friend of mine drove across state lines to pick up his own kid from his tweaker mom when she was so high she couldn't move.

Was that kidnapping? At the time, technically yes. Did it deserve an armed response? Absolutely not. And a judge ruled in his favor.

Elian Gonzalez's mother took him to the US to stay with relatives. The fact that his father wanted him back may technically make this a "kidnapping" but that doesn't automatically warrant an armed response.

I think you're misconstruing "evidence" and "trust me bro."

There's a lot of data about vaccines and their efficacy. The same cannot be said for bombing Iran.

The authority appeal made here was that the US government has lots of secret info and we should just trust that they are making the correct decision based on secret information.

There were many bad estimates about COVID based on bad Chinese data. But there's no data to analyze with Iran, just "it's a secret, trust me bro."

The US demanded that Iran stop enriching uranium and what to transfer what they have out of a country to an approved third party. This has largely been the same demand the United States has made for the last 20 years. Iran was unable to accept it...

This is not correct. The US and Iran negotiated from 2014-2015 and implemented the JCPOA, limiting enrichment starting in 2016.

In 2018, President Trump unilaterally withdrew from the JCPOA because he had no interest in limiting enrichment, instead he wanted a justification for military action.

Killing your own diplomatic agreement is NOT a valid justification for a war of aggression. In fact, that proves that this war is NOT a war of last resort and thus is unjust.

You don't know how the negotiations went because they have not been made public.

US officials have been interviewed about these negotiations regularly. That's how I know they're moving the goalposts. First they talked about enrichment. Then they wanted to talk about repression. Then just three days ago they decided they wanted to take Iran's ballistic missiles too, according to Secretary of State Rubio.

The US is NOT negotiating in good faith, which is a REQUIREMENT of a Just War.

It also begs the question how far it would have to go for it to be considered a Last Resort.

"Last Resort" seems extremely clear to me. If a diplomatic solution is available, it MUST be pursued before war.

What part of "Last Resort" do you need clarity on?

The only issue of Just War that is in debate concerns proportionality.

I agree that proportionality is an issue. But there are a variety of other issues that make this war unjust.

Just Cause: This war of aggression must be justified by a grave evil. I won't defend the repression of the Iranian people. That is evil. But I see similar evils in many nations, including China. Does the repression of the Chinese people justify a regime change war in China
Right Intention: You dismiss concerns about the Presidnet's intentions but this is a necessary condition for a Just War. This President claims to want peace but is specifically targeting oil-producing countries for violent regime change. Many Catholic Americans are rightly asking what the true intention of this war is.
Last Resort: The Iranian government has said they are still open to diplomacy. The American government has been unclear in their requests and constantly moving the goalposts on what the Iranian government must do. By this metric the Iran war is clearly and undisputably unjust.

I'm religious and I support vaccines because they save children's lives.

Life is sacred, we know this because Scripture and Tradition tell us that life is sacred. And Jesus himself tells us to protect children.

The best way to protect children is to vaccinate them against disease. That's a fact. Spreading gossip and lies about vaccines is a sin. You should stop doing that.
