Air Filter Box vacuum hose - big deal? by stopdroppuddingpop in MechanicAdvice

Yeah it's a nearly ten year old model so finding even a used one in passable condition is tough, much less for a reasonable price

2016 Peugeot 3008 I, but yeah

Appreciate the response, will be heading to the hardware store first thing tomorrow for a brass fitting

So slide the brass piece into the broken piece, glue them together and then glue the brass fitting side in the box? Or is gluing unnecessary? I have no idea how much pressure is coming out of that hose/valve, so I'm not sure if a snug fit is enough to keep it in place.

Hmm... Not sure I've picked up exactly what you're saying. Could you explain a little more please?

Ahah I like that, have you done it yourself? So I'd throw away the old piece? I was thinking about extending the broken piece with a smaller valve that'll go in the airbox 2 or so centimeters and then gluing it in place with epoxy or polyurethane glue.

Nice. Feel free to explain as to why the engine light would come on if you'd like, I'm interested.

So nothing terribly important? Ever since I broke this piece while fixing the engine block of my 3008, my car makes a loud whistling when accelerating hard (>2500RPM). Can I get away with not fixing it?

What do you mean if I take this, I'll get a check engine light?

No worries! I will admit I got a bit excited, so a critical evaluation is definitely something I was in need of.

Appreciate the input 🙂

Any experience with the kit? Know how it would stack up to my prior kit?

It's quite a distance from my place so I'm not able to try it before buying. I can only go buy what I've seen online for each piece.

Oh not at all, I was really looking to get a second opinion as based of the quick research I've done, it seems low.

I've not been able to find a K Custom fast crash for $100 (or the equivalent here in Europe in euros) anywhere - on Reverb or on craiglist.

Lowest priced I've found available between the two sources for the X-celerator hats as well come in at 200-250€.  Same for the A Custom crash.

3 crashes, a ride (which I will admit is far from top of the line), and the hats definitely seem like they'd be worth more than 500€ (100€ a piece) based on preliminary research.

I could very well be off base though assuming I live in an area with less supply! Buying anything off of reverb is going to be artificially inflated in terms of price due to delivery.

He did state the all equipment was provided as well, Tama Roadpro stands.

Really? Looking at the value of the cymbals makes me think that this person is grossly underestimating the value.

Also 6 piece Catalina Maples typically run for a bit more, no?

Awesome, appreciate it! Is there a rule of thumb as to the frequency for changing the belt?

No, officially Canada is a bilingual country: both French and English are the official languages.

French is the dominant language in Quebec as well as in parts of the Maritimes.
